drizzle
I want to be the first to say goodbye to the poor "managment" of Brad Johnson. Time to go manage the sideline for the remainder of the season. Managers don't win games, football players do! Since they are benching guys then it's time to bench the O-line as well along with block hands Dugan. Bring on the draft!!!!
bucketmouth64
It's about time Childress wakes up. If Bollinger doesn't get hurt(which he may have)Johnson is done for the year. We lose this game the Vikes need to see what we have for qb's. I still can't figure out why Childress won't put Kleinsausser back as an H-back so he can block. He's done it before, maybe Childress has it in his head he needs a true fb. Childress needs to learn to improvise with the people he has. Maybe he is too stubborn to change because he doesn't want to be second guessed. He is a rookie coach making lots of mistakes on the field in all aspects. Tomlin makes better adjustments. Our oc (bevell) is so young he won't have lots to say to make a difference. Maybe Childress needs someone on his coaching staff that has some experience that could give advice. Flaco651
The Vikes were playing pretty good, they are giving the game away right now. So Johnsons out, Bollinger just got hurt, and Tavarious Jackson is in now. So who will start next week? We are now 5-7, on the way to my 6-10 prediction I made at the beginning of the season. Hopefully I am wrong and they can go 9-7, with the kid T. Jackson running the show.
Trainman
Just saw a stat: Vikings offense 348 total yards. Bears 107 total yards and the win.Merry Christmas!
walleyes12
Its time to see what Jackson is all about. If he is not the answer then its time the vikes wise up and draft some that is capable of playing football
The Donk
This is the greatest day of the season, in my perspective. See ya later, thank god they didn't give him any more money at the beginning of the season! Either qb is more entertaining to watch than that fossil
Sandmannd
I'm not a huge fan of BJ, but I don't put it all on his shoulders. Sure he through the interseptions but he never has any time. Do we not have one of the higher paid Offensive lines? The two guys on the left aren't living up to their pay. McKinnie just plain sucks. They need to change that or the two young guys are gonna get killed too.
bottomdweller
Boy, the vikes are sure one disciplined team. Glad they at least dont get penalized much At least we ran the ball well today. Too bad we always find a way to screw it up. Penalties, picks, special team blunders. Oh well gotta say great job to the Defense. Hope we see more of that. tcroz
I was calling for his head 10 weeks ago! It was obvious then that he did not have what it takes to go to the next level. I hope and pray I do not see the #14 on the field again!!!!
nofishfisherman
I love football fans.Last year most of the people on here were falling in love with BJ becuase the hate for Culpepper clouded your vision.Last year I said that Johnson wasn't going to get it done. Last year during our winning streak the offense scored something like 1 touchdown in 4-5 weeks. The offensive ineptitude has been around longer then just this year. Can everyone now finally see that praising BJ for being a game manager is pretty much worthless. Last year everyone said he is not the guy that will lose the game for you, well folks I am pretty sure throwing 4 INT's lost the game for us. Some of them were really bad INT's as well. You ever said he won't make bad decisions? Well most of you did last year.I honestly think that if Culpeper had a healthy knee we would have been much much better off keeping him instead of putting dead arm brad in there. Bobby Bass
I would not stick a fork in him yet. Everyone has a bad day and it is up to the coach to make a decision when to give someone the hook. Sunday was not Brad's day. I would have like to have seen it done a little earlier but I am not getting the big bucks for that decision. I think you will see Brad back behind the center next Sunday. Vikings have a plan and they just have not told us what it is. But I think they will stick with Brad and keep working the backups. Another game in a season of games that could have, should have. It's times like these that I am glad that I play in several fantasy football leagues. If I only watched the Vikings I would be in a deep depression by now and looking East towards Chicago, but I don't see them going very far in the playoffs. zepman
The Vikes need to wise up in a hurry. There is a huge trend in the NFL right now and it has to do with young QB's taking over and learning while on the job. While being "trendy" isn't important the fact that these young QB's are going to have a significant amount of playing time underneath their belt come next year. If the Vikes don't see what they have NOW and get TJ some quality playing time and experience they will be behind the curve and struggle again next year. There is no point of playing BJ right now. Look to the future---the rookie can't possibly do any worse than what we've all seen in the past couple of weeks.
bucketmouth64
After this season, I don't think any other team will pick up BJ. He has shown how far he has digressed physically. Another athelete not knowing when to quit. He should spend time with family or get into coaching as a qb coach. No one has put any blame on the position coaches. Who is our o-line coach? I think if Loney was still here our line would be doing better. What about receivers/tight end coach? Seems like no one can get thru to these guys on the offensive side. Maybe Bevell is in too deep as offensive coordinator because of his inexperience and age. Tomlin is not having any issues getting thru to his defense. Or maybe Childress, the so called west coast guru, doesn't know how to right a sinking ship. Wonder if he is using too much psychology and not enough good ole fashion a$$ kicking. To me it seems like he is completely at a loss what to do. Kinda makes you wonder what Zygi and the GM thinks how the season is going in Childress' decision making. The Donk
I don't think you can judge Childress on this season. Every good coach needs 3 years of free agent acquisitions to make a team what they invision is right. Be thankful that the Wilf's seem to be interested enough to spend some money to get good players so that can happen. Mr. Pohlad could learn a little something from that. If the team doesn't have a good direction in the next 2 years, then start calling out Chili. At least he has the moxy to go for it every once in a while on 4th down, knowing it may be the only way to get a 1st down with these worthless playmakers! 96trigger
I agree on easing up on Childress. Their has to be a transition period. However, the Vikings offense, his baby, is horrible. He shouldn't be let off the hook for poor play calling and some really stupid mistakes. However, he is a rookie coach, and I hope that he is learning from his mistakes. Funny how Mike Tice was 9-7 and we all hated him (of course, he was a horses behind) , Chili has to win out for that record.
bucketmouth64
Childress still won't name the starting qb. He says the qb's know who is starting and he won't get into the so called media game with local reporters. What is up with that? He won't divulge anything. Doesn't this sound like the days of Denny Green as vikes coach?
jltimm
Yah, Denny Green! He'll play who he plays when he plays them!
al15abc
BJ will be the starter on Sunday, although it really does not matter becasue we are playing the Lions. However, it will be a close game becasue the O-Line will continue to be horrible and Taylor is injured.
Bobby Bass
Brad is back, Vikes win one. D played well. Right side of the line is making the left side look very much overly paid. Not out of it yet three games to go and might just make the playoffs. Of course they will just tease us before ending the season. The vikings with a running game and td's now where did that come from...
tcroz
Let's not be printing the playoff tickets yet. What BJ did yesterday could of been done by a trained monkey. All he did was hand off the ball and watched a average back tear up a below average defense. The pick he threw for a TD was atrocious. That was a bad decision on his part and a bad call on Childress' part. He does not have the arm strength for that throw. D did play well line looked good...still can't stand to watch BJ.
