I rented Taken last weekend. I'm not a huge Liam Neeson fan, but this movie rocked and had good acting. Lots of suspense and action.

I didn't like Benjamin Button very much. The movie was predictable and slow, but you kinda had to watch to finish it anyway.

Went to Terminator Salvation tonight. It was pretty good, not what I expected. Some really cool stuff, some hokey stuff. 2 or 3 more in the series and the humans will win. Or Skynet will, one.

The next Transformers movie was one of the previews. EVERY guy was glued to the screen. When the preview ended it was silent. This one dude in the back row yelled out, 'That looks stupid!' Everyone started laughing. The Hangover looks funny.

Saw the hangover yesterday and it was pretty good. Really raunchy, like its drifting into NC-17 territory. Still, I think it could have been better. A friend of mine said it was in his top 3 comedies. No way. It left a lot of potential on the table.

Whuff, whuff, just dusting this one off. I went to District 9 last night. Its a real SciFi movie. I loved it. My buddy didnt like it as much. Super well written. Some of the Computer animation is so good, if those arent people in prawn suits then we have no need for movie actors anymore. Every issue a movie can deal with, racism, corporate greed, poitics, war. Some awesome scenes with alien weaponry too. Great ending too.

Also saw District 9 because it was highly reviewed. I love Sci Fi, but it didn't exactly click for me, like Mr. S said, the tones were different. Kind of like E.T. wasn't about aliens but was instead had themes about government control and cover up and biological testing, then District 9 was about race relations, social welfare, global arms dealings, etc. It moved really fast and all the titles and names in the beginning distracted from the dialogue. Lots of holes for me too. How could they understand the language? Why were the aliens refugees? Part Starship Troopers, part Schindler's List...I'm dissappointed that everyone else loves this movie, but I am left shrugging my shoulders. What am I missing about this movie, why can't I get it? It's somewhere between B and C for me.

Saw an advanced screening of "Inglorious Basterds" tonight. I'm a big Tarantino fan. Awesome flick, one of his best. It was the best movie I've seen this summer. You'll enjoy the story and humor. Tarantino has been writing this thing and working on it since before Kill Bill. Good stuff.

Just got back from Avatar and I gotta tell ya...it was awesome! Got to see it in 3D, which was a nice bonus. It had elements of District 9, Alien, Dances with Wolves, Chronicles of Narnia, Jarhead....I think this movie lands in my top 15 or 20. Basically, in the last decade, outside of the Terminator series, this has been James Cameron's big project since Titanic...he poured a lifetime of work into this movie. Go see it for the stunning visuals if nothing else. It's about 2.75 hours but it's really cool! Romance for the ladies, fight scenes for the guys, and a really good storyline. I'd check out rotten tomatoes for better reviews than mine but for my $.02 it was awesome!

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
