My biggest largemouth came out of Waconia in August of 2004. She went 22" and around 7 1/2 pounds. She was really fat! The pic is in my avatar to the left. Was taken on a muskie inhaler while muskie fishing. Great bonus fish!

My biggest smallie was 20.5 inches taken on a jointed shad rap.

Best bass for me is 22 inches for both largemouth and smallmouth. Count me in on the 300 club for the season. Started with a bang by boating over 200 fish on opener weekend. Atleast 25 of those fish were over 19 inches. One of the perks of fishing the duluth area is that nobody really fishes the largemouth bass very hard and if you get on a good bite you get it all to yourself.

Opening day for Walleye and Pike in North Minnesota. 21" fatty on a 5" Pike Minnow. No weight but it was a big healthy fish. Hope to catch it again before the season ends.

my biggest largemouth was seven pounds caught on a white and chartruce spinner bait the second day after opener last year. my biggest smallmouth was 22.5 inches and 6 lbs 13 ounces caught on mille lacs in august on a fire tiger shallow running crank bait made by flammin lure. it is still the biggest smallie i have ever seen. I will try and put the picture up here.

My largest was a 6lb 10oz'r. My second largest was a 6lb 8oz'r. Caught on a Baby Brush Hog green pumpkin Texas rigged. The second time on a 6"black lizard Carolina rigged. The neatest thing about that was that it was the same fish on two different occasions. Catch and release pays off! laugh.gifcrazy.gifwink.gif The reason I know was that it had a scar on it that I recognized, and caught it within yards of where I caught it the first time. The weight was true, I verifed my scales accuracy at the meat market. Also, what was very cool was that it was on a metro lake.

I have a conversion chart on length = weight. The following is from it.

12"=1.0lbs

13"=1.3

14"=1.7

15"=2.1

16"=2.5

17"=3.0

18"=3.6

19"=4.2

20"=5.0

21"=5.7

22"=6.6

23"=7.6

Of course, these are estimates depending on many different factors, but I've found it to be close.

My biggest was only about 5 lbs, dont recall the measuremnts though...

I've only boated around 50 so far this year, but I didnt start looking for the bass until after the 4th of July. The walleyes had all my attention before that!

Anyone else notice that the fishing this year has been exceptional? Maybe I have just been lucky, but I have done well every time out this year.

Matt from Duluth, I agree, its awesome, very little Bass comepetion around here!

My biggest was an asterisk.

Just over 22", crappy scale said over 7 1/2 lbs, caught it crappie fishing in the spring on a bobber/minnow. She was a female full of spawn. I was 14 or so, and I've never since seen a bass with as big a gut. It looked sick.

Largie: 21.75, 15.5 girth Florida rigged blue fleck lizard

Smallie: 19.5, black with red fleck tube on a metro lake that supposedly doesnt have smallies in it.

Walleye: 32inch - first time walleye fishing in 5+ years, haven't walleye fished since...leaving on a high note!

Musky: 45 inch on Tonka, Black and Red bucktail, 3rd fish of the night...same lure.

What's the 300 club?..300 bass in a season? I need to start counting.

Biggest Smallie: 19'' on a Tube jig in the St. Croix.

Biggest Largemouth: 22'' 6lb. 12oz on a black spinnerbait just after dark Sept. 2005 on a 8 acre pond in Dakota county.

A lot of the time to skip traffic on the bigger lakes, I will just take my River Ridge custom canoe and fish the ponds and smaller lakes throughout Dakota county and leave the boat at home. I usually do really well on these spots. A lot of these spots have good sized fish and even good average sizes.

My biggest is a 21 1/2" That was just over 6lbs. Caught slow rolling a spinnerbait in the fall.

I did see and measure personally a 24" largie on the same lake last year. It was a MONSTER that was under 8 lbs. It was in the middle of the summer and very skinny. To bad it was not in the fall or it would of given the record a run for its money.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
