All you have listed is fine - I could add about 12 more.

However, you need to be more specific.

Water temp? Clarity? Depth? Structure? Speeds? Current? etc.

Then I can go into My Brands, size, colors, lines, depth, etc. etc.

i will be fishing this weekend so i think the temps will be in the 60's or so. i will be trolling some deep weed edges and shallow sand flats. i will be trolling at a number of speeds to see what is working best. the water is pretty clear, but does get turned up with a little weather which is forecasted for the weekend. there, is no current really besides wind blow.

Shad raps are intermediate action (wobble/movement) lures (pretty good this time of year).

I like Husky jerks, bomber's, brad's lil rippers, ripsticks, fastracks, wally divers, etc.

There are hundreds of good cranks/sticks out there. Like Duluth Guy said you need to be specific about where you will use them. What is water clearity, forage base etc.

I picked up some glass shad raps on a good sale at Fishermans Corner today and if they work as good or better than the regular shad raps Ill be very happy.

If you are fishing a like with a lot of Bullheads go with the Salmo Bullhead. You can't find Salmo lures everywhere but they are great. If you are fishing dark stained water I would go with a firetiger color. It's tough to beat that color in any situation.

I also like hot-n-tots, thunderstick jrs, and little rippers for trolling for eyes. although it seems that every year something comes along that is the new "hot bait". I wonder what it will be this year.

I like to have a variety of bait regardless of the water conditions. I like to have a few long baits, short, shad style baits, baits that rattle, baits that don't rattle, floating, suspending, dark, bright or natural colors.

That said this time of year I like shad raps(deep, shallow, rattling, jointed), floating rapalas(original and jointed), rattlin rogues, thundersticks(reg & Jrs), Smaller wally divers, smaller husky jerks, etc.

Given the full moon this weekend, the time of year and water temps the first crank out of my box will be a #11 floating rap in rainbow. If that doesn't prduct I may switch to a rattling bait like a rattlin rogue floater or a Thunderstick jr in say chrome/black. I'll be working that 3-6 fow including the inside weed edge. If nothing goes I'll move a bit deeper and run a shad rap #5 deep diver in chatruese, shiner, sliver/black...

I'd have baits that I coould sytematicly cover and illiminate water with until I figure it out.

Good Luck!

I'll be trolling on lake that has very cloudy water from alge, 10-14 ft deep, lots of bullheads in the lake?

Any ideas?

Riverrat56,

I've had great results catching eyes in those types of lakes. One of my favorites fits that profile. I generally have great results pulling cranks in these types of lakes. However, I tend to catch my fish shallower than most fisherman target. During daylight or nightime I generally find lots of aggressive fish in the 4-8' water column. This pattern generally holds true through the summer as the bloom just gets more intense. If there are sparse to moderate weed growth it's just that much better up there.

If there's weed growth I'll usually opt for shad raps. Mostly because it's very easy feel the change in action even if you pick up a small weed piece. A quick snap of the rod with power pro and 90% of the time the lure will be clear again. Colors I like under those condtions are either dask or bright. Examples are perch, gold/black, crayfish, chartruese and firetger.

Good Luck!

Spring shorefishing in waders, I love floating Rapala 9, 11, and 13's firetiger for color. I found this lure on a lake and it had been used a bunch and it had abundant tooth marks on it. lures like that one have become my favorite. Isn't it interesting what you learn when you are walking around a lake picking up Misc. fishing gear.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
