BIG DIESEL
I am thinking about getting this chip for my Lowrance H20c GPS and didn't see Upper Red Lake on the HSOforum for all the lakes it contains. Does anyone have any info and can confirm that it is or isnt on there?

0 PierBridge
Can't remember if it's the New Nav or LM chip, but one or both will have 6 inch countours of URL.........URL is basicly 14 foot anyway...
0 Paul Waldowski
The new Lakemaster Chip will have URL in 6 inch contours. It is due to be released soon. Hopefully
0 BIG DIESEL
This might be already posted but with the Lowrance H20c is the Navionics or the Lakemaster better liked/better deal?I fish primarily in MN and Lake of the woods. However, do an occasional trip to WI, SD, and ND. That is why I was leaning towards the Navionics Premium - north. Do people agree with that theory? Thanks for any help. 0 PerchJerker
You can zoom in much closer with the LM chip than you can with the Nav chip - it's a lot nicer for dialing in on the structure and really seeing the detail But I'm pretty sure LOTW is not on the Minn LM chip
0 Bushwacker
Yep, if you are looking for LOW and surrounding states you are limited to the Navionics. I have the Navionics North and the Lakemaster MN and I use the Lakemaster 100% of the time for MN fishing. The Navionics is good, just not as good as the Lakemaster. 0 luckey
Big DieselLast week I did a little checking on the new 2006 Navionics chips. They have a new Canada chip this year, as well as the North, East, South, and West. I went to a store and had them load the chip in a GPS. Here is what we discovered. The new Canada chip has LOW, Rainy, Eagle, and a host of other lakes throughout Canada. The North chip has the Minnesota, Wisc, N/S Dakota, Iowa etc. What we were surprised to see was it also contains the exact same lake maps for LOW, Rainy, and Eagle that the Canada Chip has. Go figure.
0 BIG DIESEL
I was under the impression (maybe I was confused) that Cabelas had a Lakemaster (w/ LOW) chip? or am I wrong? Also - if 99% of my fishing is done in MN should I go the Lakemaster route? is it really that much better than the navionics? maybe i need to take another trip out to cabelas and get "un-confused"!!! 0 ChuckN
I would go the LakeMaster route. I have the CD Rom, and will have the chip when I get a new graph and, of course, I'll wait for the 2006 chip that will be released in a couple months.LakeMaster has a ProMap of LOW that is lake surveyed and the most accurate map money can buy. I believe you have to purchase the LOW chip seperate from the 256+ lakes MN chip. It is confusing at times, no doubt.
0 Northlander
The reason I got the Navionics chip was that lakemaster doesnt have anything for the Lake Superior or the St.Louis river and I live in Superior Wi. and fish these 2 bodies a lot. Also Navionics has more lakes in my area. Im going to however get the Lakemaster chip for my Lowrance x-15 because the New Navionics chip doesnt work in it. Both are good chips but I think if you live up North the Navionics gives more options. The lakemaster works in more units and is a bit more detailed on some lakes. Its a tough decision. The way electronics are improving so fast these days you almost have to buy a new every year to try and keep up.
0 PierBridge
Not to mention the Lakemaster has detailed Road maps and POI of which Nav does not have.
0 katoguy
Big D, I just received my new Nav Hot Maps Premium chip on Monday the 9th. I bought it for my Humminbird Matrix 97. Works and looks great.I could not buy a Lakemaster chip as (I believe) LM is owned by Lowrance (not compatible with HB).Anyhow, the new Cabela's and BPS catalogs state that my Lowrance iFinder H2O will work with my Nav chip. Wrong.Maybe last year's iFinder H2O wasn't compatible, but this year's iFinder is? Anybody? The new Nav chip has a lot more southern MN lakes mapped than last years chip. Plus it is $50 cheaper! 0 HAMPS
I just bought a Lowrance iFinder H2O C and a 2006 Navionics Hotmap North chip. Works great. Found a great deal for the GPS on hsolist and found a HSOforum for the chip that was much lower than any other place I had found.
0 PerchJerker
LakeMaster is not owned by Lowrance. Lowrance owns the chip with the LakeMaster maps on it. Whether you buy that chip from LakeMaster, Lowrance, Cabelas, or anywhere else, you are simply buying a chip with LakeMaster maps that has been sold by Lowrance. 0 BIG DIESEL
I got a great deal for my H20c as well off of the internet. Typed it into google and searched around and found it for $193 + $12 for shipping. Should have it tomorrow. Katoguy - I assume you have last years model? When I was at cabelas the guy had a demo h20c and put the chip in it...at least i thought it was the navionics one... maybe it was the lakemaster one. as I said before...too much confusion and I guess maybe tomorrow night or this weekend I need to take my H20c out to cabelas and test it out. Being in southern MN my primary lakes are down in the area but I would like to have one chip (which includes lake of the woods/mille lacs/red lake/etc...) So, I guess that means the Nav chip.... I will post what I find out once I head out to Cabelas and check prices etc...

Thanks for the great info guys, I have been looking for the H20 used but may just get a new one. I'm sick of my Etrex legend and I want to have the maps on my gps unit. Much less work :-)I will almost certainly be getting the navionics North chip as I don't want to pay extra for the LOTW map from LM.
0 BIG DIESEL
Viking- I got mine from BUYERETAIL.com in case you care. ALso - they way I understood it seems how you are understanding it that I was going to get the Navionics chip for the only reason that I didnt want to have to buy a LOW chip also. How much better is the Lakemaster chip than the Navionics chip? is it really that much better?

0 ice-man/vexilar-king
Kato My H2O works with LEI(Lakemaster) and Navionics. You just need to go into Map Data and turn it on. Come into the store and i can walk you thru it.
0 ice-man/vexilar-king
L.E.I is made to be plug and play with its own like products, H2O, 332, 25c, whatever unit you have. The benefit to this is you can retain base mapping, roads ect. When you turn on the Navionics thats all you get, but if you put them in units side by side and soom into say kings island on Malax lake you will see a large difference in quality the Nav chip is for people that want to fish the spot on the spot.
