I bought a Wusthof this past summer and I'm very happy with it. I picked it up on sale for around $70. I've read alot of good things about Leech Lake knives but they were to hard for me to find. A quality fillet knife is money well spent.

I have a Leech Lake knife and have purchased 2 for some of my close fishing buddies. I bought them at the sportshow in Minneapolis and have it sharpened by them at the show once a year. It is the sharpest knife I have used. They have a wide variety of colors of handles. I have black and my buddies have tan and brown. They have other colors as well. Search for Leech Lake Knife and you should find them. They are $80-$90 at the show.

If I was to buy a knife to look at and admire than the Leech knives are nice. But for the last 5 years I have been using a Kershaw Fillet Knife and have cleaned plenty of fish with it. It keeps it's edge very long and is easily sharpened.

Good luck,

I have aLeech lake and a Cutco fishermen solution knife. Both are great knives and probably the best 2 along with Wusthoff knives. The cutco is great because the edge holds and it has a forever warranty,so if you give it to your grandchildren it is still under warranty. No one has a better warranty out there. One knife and hand it down forever. Also, if you have a hard time with sharpening it,they will do it no charge.

Thanks for the comments and opinions on the knives.

So I ordered the Wusthof 7" Pro Series with sheath. AND

The 7 1/2in. Leech Lake "Frosty" with a sheath.

Those 2 should get me by for awhile. cool.gif

Just remember the leech has a edge on both sides. I sure am glad I wear a fillet glove blush.gif when using it otherwise I think I would be good at driving to the hospital for stiches with a bleeding hand. So if you don't have a glove I would suggest getting one.
