why am i at work

why am i at work - no one else is - everyone i have called is out till at least tuesday. and i sit here looking out the window and its nice and sunny and i could be home fixing my sled for a ride or going fishing or just about anything would be better than this. can i go home now please?

I hear ya, mtreno! Out of the 20 or so offices on my floor, I am 1 out of 2 people here. EVERYONE is out until Tuesday at the earliest. I don't know if I'm gonna make it until 4:30. Probably more like 2:00. Merry Christmas!

I'm the only one in the engineering dept. of the hospital on duty. The boiler room has to be manned 24/7 so holidays don't mean much to us flunkies. We do get double time and a half for working on Christmas, so that makes my spousal unit happy. After New Year's, I'm taking vacation and hitting some Walleye and Perch lakes with a brother and brother-in law.
