It kind of fun to talk about the differences in lingo between different states. One main one I see between MN and WI is Shanty vs Fish House. What do you guys use in reference to the thing you fish in.

"fish house" when generalizing. "Portable" or "permanent" when being specific. For example: "We are taking out the portables this weekend to try n' ice some 'eyes. Comin?" Or, "whatdya think 'bout the permanent we built?"

It's an iceshack here in Ontario,and a snowmachine is a sled and an atv is called a 4 wheeler or bike and oh yeah our walleyes are called pickerel . I think us Canucks got it right . LOL

We call the permanent the "big house" and call portables, portables which I happen to think is really unique. haha.
