A buddy of mine is moving so he is selling his LX3. It is 2 years old and comes with the case and battery. He will sell it for $250. Is that a fair deal or am I better buying a new one, and if so, where is the best deal on one now? Thanks in advance.

Pretty sure all the units for $279 are gone now. I've been seeing $300 quite a bit for new units. If nothing is wrong with this unit then I wouldn't hesitate. You'd be getting a good enough deal and helping out a friend.

I think it's a great price...the only difference is if you purchase one new, you'd get a warranty on it. I too bought mine a month ago for $300 including the two year warranty.

Check Dick's Sporting Goods if your in Minnesota. Saw some where that they were selling left over LX-3's and LX-1's for $300 and $200 respectively. Check fishing pro store first...

CNY Frank sold his 1 year old LX-3 to a new guy to the sport of ice fishing for $200. I didn't have the heart to tell him about the upgrade since his LX3TC will be here anyday now.

Be careful bending him over, lol...

I would rather throw it out of the window of my pickup at 70 then sell it for less then 250.00!!! The one thing you guys need to know about 12lb 8oz is that he is dislexic. 12 - 8 was maybe 8lb 12oz. I was in the boat when the fish came in. Im not saying 8-12 isnt a nice eye, but it gained at least 4lbs from the boat to the wall.

grip it + stroke it,

Where are you going to find a steep enough hill around C-town to get your pickup going 70 mph??? You'd be lucky if that thing made it to 50 without falling apart. Secondly, you need to dump that LX-3 for about $150 because you have no use for it where you're going. It will just clutter up the moving van. And last but certainly not least, you know (Contact US Regarding This Word) well that fish was closer to 13 lbs than 12 lbs. If you don't believe me, just ask Les. There is no better authority on ANYTHING fishing than Les, and he claims it was nearly 14, I mean 13.

thats the thing that troubles me the most. Les is a good fisherman, but should maybe visit an eye doctor and service his scale. secondly, the ford offers extreme off roading with the luxury that only lariat can provide. I have never heard you complain about my pickup while pulling that GM junk of yours out of a snow bank.

Gripem, The thing you need to decide is this....do you want your fishing geer to go to someone who can obviously make it happier than you ever have (by pulling up walleye after walleye) or do you want it in the hands of some stranger???? Whoever gets it probably won't treat it well, they'll let it bang around in the back seat of their truck, drag it around in a sled out to the fishouse, let the battery's run low. If it were mine (for $175 like Coldmark suggests) I would treat it right. I wouldn't let it bang around in the back of the truck, I would always keep the battery's fresh and the most important is this one, you know (Contact US Regarding This Word) well I will constantly be pulling fish out of the lake to satisfy that LX3. Now who could give it a better home than 12lb 8oz???? $175 and I'll kick in some of your magazines that you left in the fish house. By the way, I got in trouble for those from my wife. "what kind of a sick (Contact US Regarding This Word) buys a magazine named "knockers" were her exact words". My answer was simple, TRAV. grin.gif

Your shockingly tight these days. Buy the unit and get hours, and hours of enjoyment. The LX3 will give you the opportunity to finally catch a few eyes through the ice, instead of just watching. It seems as though you have come to a cross roads in your life.......

It seems as though in your eyes I am constantly at that crossroads. I can't afford to spend 250 on a marcum. Maybe we can work out a payment plan, say 25 a year for 10 years....payments will be made each Dec. 31st. Whatta you think
