Tonka Boy
So, who all has to suffer through a day of work today? Please share your gripes here! Got word from some fellow FM'ers out on a metro lake. It's been a slow morning so far, with only a few flags...no fish yet. I'm soooo jealous! Wables
I am at work and not getting paid for it. I wouldn't want to be out in the rain and slush today anyway. At least I am earning a day off to use when the weather gets better.
The Chemist
Since the 5th of this month I have only had 1 day off and that was last Saturday. Plus I will get tomorrow and Sunday off. The best thing about it is more money for more toys.

The Yeti
Same here. Stuck at work until 4. It's really, really slow, but they will not let anyone go home yet. No flags on the ice is better than being stuck at work on a slow day.
icehousebob
I'm at work today and for the following five days also. The price you pay for working in a hospital. Tomorrow is double time and a half. Think of the wonderful things my bride can purchase. BUT, starting on the 5th, I have six days off to go adverture fishing. Haven,t decided where, South Dakota or maybe Red Lake. Just throw my gear in the truck along with a sleeping bag and go.
Ryan Berger
Yep still stuck at work,,, but finally out of Iraq. Now I am stuck in Kuwait waiting for a flight on the 2ed. I was on a flight yesterday, but they needed three volunteers to stay back till the 2ed. Knowing that some people had families to get home to, and that I would recieve combat pay and have Jan be tax free if I was here past the first, I decided to stay and get myself a new Otter fish house and Aqua Vue when I get back... Happy new years,,,
tdk
Hey LUNDDUCKBOAT, I hope everything goes well getting back to the states. It's a great feeling stepping back on US soil. I spent a year in a middle east country(Turkey) and you really learn to appreciate the US. We may have problems but nothing like some of those countries do. My son is stationed Okinowa right now and may get sent to Thailand to help there, he is starting to realize how good we have it here. So compared to you, being stuck at work isn't that bad. Myself and a couple of other guys I work with noticed that the people that are at work yet are out of vacation and that they are the ones really serious about hunting and fishing. I guess we have better ways to use our vacation (imho) than saving it for a couple of days off over Christmas. Besides it's really nice and quiet here. Doonbuggy
Hey everybody, just emailing in from the ice on Tonka via my blackberry. What a bite! It's windy, but the fish are on fire. Have already iced five northerns, all between 28-39". Lost a big 'ski at the hole and already have our limit of sunnies. We've got eyes and crappies on the camera, but they're not biting yet, but I'm sure they will once it hits dusk. Some real lunkers down there. The crappies are slabs!Too bad all of you are in your own cube farms. You could be running for a flag or watching the bobber go down!Oh, and I'm just kidding..... We've closed up but the first bus isn't for an hour. I'm in a cube farm just like the rest of you. Will be hitting the ice for the first time tomorrow. I've got a Jiffy that I've barely used and can't wait to fire it up.Happy New Years to all and to all a good bite.DB
