Dan Wood
Cool Cats is still scheduled as in Matt's post, it just isn't an official ICE series event.

Duffer
new to the ice series and was thinking of going this year was wondering what you do with the fish and how the wayin works out. ovisely you cant return them to the water they would be frozen already. i would keep most spices but if i caught a bass i really dont care to keep the bass i wouldnt eat one. Is there a way i can still get the points for it and return it or do u have to wayin at the end of the turnement.
Dennis Steele
There will be someone at the event HQ all day.If you catch a nice fish you want to release, bring it to the HQ, weigh it, release it, and you can return to fishing and add that fish to your total weight of the day. Duffer
thanks for the info i was reading some where on the ice leaders HSOforum that they dont accept frozen fish does this mean when you catch a fish u want to keep you cant just throw it on the ice and bring it in at the end of the tornemnt or do u have to bring them in while still alive? Guest
The frozen fish rule is in place so you can't bring in a fish that was caught before the contest starts. We can pretty much tell if a fish was froze from laying outside your house for a few hours compared to one from the night before. If someone wants to cheat to win a trophy, I feel sorry for that person. It's all about having fun and winning the event is not what it's really all about anyways. As far as weighing in fish you really dont want to keep, it is hard to realese a fish on the ice unless you have a cooler filled with water and then transport it to the weigh station. We are not responsible for the fish, so if it does not make it, it's yours. We will not be releasing half-dead fish. Like I said earlier, it's just for a trophy, so you need to weigh that between the welfare of the fish.

hanson
They are indeed! I would like to add that the Lake of the Woods event was the only event I made it to last year! (No event on LOW this year but lots of other great destinations) After that one event, I told myself I was attending all of them this winter. In reality, I can't make them all but will do my best. I met some really great people last winter, and found what may be one of my favorite places to fish this winter. I found some great fishing at the I.C.E. event and may have taken the crown up there. I say may because I caught one heck of an Eelpout and another 3 Tullibee which would have put me way up there in weight. I don't normally keep these fish and didn't feel like starting that day either. All I can say is seeing that young fisherman proudly hold up that 6lb walleye probably made the trip for me. There were some VERY LARGE perch caught, a couple dandy eelpout (9lbs), and that very nice walleye! My dad did fairly well on prizes also. I know he left with a smile. Like Dennis mentioned above, there are some great sponsors donating some prizes to the event this year! The I.C.E. series in my opinion is about fun, camaraderie, learning new techniques, and learning a new body of water. Hope to meet you all on the ice this winter. Look for me at Winnibigoshish, Minnetonka, Medicine, Cool Cats, Burntside Bash, & Rainy Lake! (I'll be wearing a lot of GREEN!!! Neon Green!! )

IcEaHoLiC
Hey everyone, looking at all these events I MUST make at least one, they sound to be pretty fun! I have not really been to one since I became a hardcore icer! I am just curous to see what restrictions they have at these events regarding electronics, etc? I am looking forward to attending one of these and meeting some fellow FMers. Hope to meet some of you there!
Bob Horn
You can use anything that is legal in the state except for spearing. If you want help in a direction (once on the lake) to go in I`m sure one of us will be able to point you in the right direction and put you on some fish.
