Can one flip a drop mount to a rise mount? They sell them differently...example: 2 inch drop flipped to a 2 inch riser?

IF I am understanding your question clearly, the answer would be yes.  Easily. Remember, that is IF I am clear on what you are asking.

Yeah, seems simple enough right? Not an engineer so was curious as to why they sell both styles if they are interchangable...

Probably sold with ball already on.  I wonder how much fun it is to get one of the pre-attached balls off the hitch?

Isn't the drop considered 'level' in a 2" receiver tube and the flip over a 2" rise?

I do believe a flipped 2" drop is considered a 3/4" rise.

I was figuring the 2" drop would put the ball level with the receiver and a flip would raise the ball a couple inches above the receiver.

Found a trick on getting nut off the ball while mounted to the hitch.  Rotate hitch so ball is not facing down or up but to the side.  Ball to the left, wrench on nut and lots of weight down on wrench will help get nut off.  Ball to the right, wrench on nut and lots of weight down on wrench will help tighten the nut. 

At 265 lbs, weight not much of a problem for me.

Geez, wish I would have thought of the before.  Would have saved a lot of wrench frustration!  

How simple really, I feel dumb now.
