Don't you hate it when you actually succeed in being quiet to the stand and quiet in the stand only to find out about an hour after you are in your stand your target buck shows up and you try to hook up your release only to find that you have not put it on yet. Yup happened this past weekend. Hope i get another chance.

.....when you and your son drive 45 minutes to get to your hunting spot only to have him tell you that he doesn't have his backpack with his release, his license, his safety harness and number of other hunting items.  You end up driving all the way back home to get it and then back to the hunting spot and practically sprint into the woods so you can set your stands up before last light.

...or you get home from hunting a piece of public land about an hour away and as you unload the truck, you realize that you left your backpack at the parking area of the WMA.  By the time you get back there, its gone.

It must be hereditary!

When you sit all day during the rut only to have a nice shooter slowly walk across the road to a grove of trees across from your house as you pull in. One that you can hunt by the way.

or when your 4 person hunting party spends 4 solid days in the field and doesn't see a single deer (this was 2-3 years ago) only to have 4 deer hanging out in the front yard of the cabin as we are packing the trucks to head home.  The sat no more than 10 yards from us in the lawn knowing we couldn't do a thing about it.

you have all day to hunt, then don't see a single deer?

That was last Saturday, other than the two fawns I saw in a neighboring pasture about 11am when I went back to my truck...

You have a perfect night to hunt, get in the stand at the right time undetected, & all you see is fawns...  that was last night.

You're all the way up the tree on a morning hunt when you were running late as usual, so you hurried too much & got sweaty, & then when you go to pull your bow up you see you didn't get the clip on the string quite right so it becomes detached from your bow...  I was really steaming & sweaty after that.

You put a climber on a tree ahead of time, but didn't bring hooks with & when you go to hunt there are none in your backpack either...

You have a big buck that you accidentally & unknowingly called off a neighbor's land when you were blowing the dust out of your grunt call.  The guy has property on both sides of the ground you're hunting, so flies around on his 4 wheeler & drives right up to the line & gets the buck to turn back before taking those last 2 or 3 steps of his life...

You're hunting a stand not far off somebody's backyard, on their property, with permission, & his teenage son sneaks up close to see where you're sitting...  Turned out I shot my biggest buck, a 14 ptr, that night anyway.

You skip a perfect night of bowhunting to go watch your daughter play volleyball 45 minutes from home & when you get there find out she left her uniform back at school, so can't play.  On top of that she tells you "it's fine" when you try to discuss it rationally with her...  That happened on October 1st.

You get exclusive permission to hunt a property (owner does not hunt) and while your in your stand you see a new ladder stand not far from where you are sitting.

Your wife tells you she rsvp'd to a wedding that's two hours away the first weekend in November

You sit for 2 and a half hours on stand and don't see a deer. You then hit a nice buck with your car on the way home. Are bucks chasing does already? There was a young buck that got hit about a quarter mile from where I hit mine. I was slowing down rapidly and he rolled up the hood of my car up on the windsheild and then slid off and ran into some tall grass. There's a shallow dent the size of a volleyball on my car. He was slowly trotting away with his tail down the last I saw of him when I was still in my car . I looked for a while with my headlight but never saw him or any blood.  Hope he's alright.

Do you use a climber? If so, check out the 3rd hand archery bow holder.  I use it with my summit viper and climb with my bow on the top part of the stand with an arrow nocked.  Very solid!

...when you go lower your bow from the stand, and your bow line breaks, sending your bow 12 ft+/- to the ground.

I'm not a big fan of heights either but for some reason feel more comfortable using a climber versus a ladder or hang on stands.

Also I'll add this one for my buddy.

Don't you hate it when you spend 3 days hunting south east MN only to come home and see a MONSTER buck standing in the middle of your backyard in the metro.

He sent me pictures, the buck was a real jerk about the whole thing and even stood perfectly broadside about 20 yards from the picture window, I'm also pretty sure I saw the buck give him the middle finger in one of the pictures.

you invite your buddy to hunt with you at land you have permission to hunt and control who hunts for a couple years...you buy a bow and decide to bow hunt (buddy has bow but hasn't used it in 5+ years) you get a call the weekend you are starting the year out only to find out said "buddy" called landowner directly to ask permission to bow hunt...landowner said yes as he thought I told him to call.  I set the record straight and have to kick said buddy off the land and remove his stand which not coincidently he placed 100 yds thru the woods in the area I only hunt and have never let others hunt!!!

You hike out to your spot, hang your stand, climb in, go to hoist your bow up and your bow rope is tangled up in your treesteps and there's no way you can get it free.  So you get out back on your steps and climb down to free the mess.  Then you pull your bow up and realize your jacket isn't attached with the bow.  It's still in the truck.  So down you go again back to the truck to get it cuz it's too cold to make it without.  That was last Tuesday.  Did eventually see a decent buck that night.
