I know this type of thread has probably been around a time or two. But I just caught my personal best largemouth at 22" on Wednesday. My biggest smallmouth to date is 20.5". Both fish were released, but I might get a replica of the 22 incher. If you would, please post your personal bests. I'm just courious if my bass was truely a pig.

Good Fishn'.....LEECH

Largemouth would be right around 21" for me. I have only one big smallie ever which was about 20". Caught that one on Buffalo last summer. I have had several large mouth in the 19"-21" range. Still looking for the 6lb+ fish!!

Thanks Tonka Boy. I'll try to get the pics posted soon (I've never posted a pic myself on this site). It was a thick fish all around. Not fat and not skinny, just really built. We didn't get girth measurements, only the length. I've heard from friends that it was anywhere from upper 6 pounds to 7 1/2.

Alright, lets keep this going! What's everyone elses bests.

My largest LM was a 21'' from Pool 2 this spring. My largest smallie was a 20.5'' from last fall.

Within the last year, I've landed a handful of nice fish in the 18-20inch range (both SM & LM). I'm still looking for the 21+'' smallie and hopefully a monster largemouth to boot.

I'll try to post a pic of the 2 smallies I caught (19.5'' & 20.5''). I've got to get off my butt and sign up for some pic server.

I got a 23.75" largemouth out of a northern MN lake.I beleive that the largemouth was well over 7lbs. largest smallie was a 22" out of the same lake. They were both caught on live bait and in the fall. I do have pics but the are not digital.I am looking at them right now, they are hangin' in my cubicle at work. DANG THEY ARE NICE!!!!. I released them both.
I am shooting for that 24". They are around, ya just gotta get lucky. I have caught numerouse 18-22" Largeys and smallies.

My biggest largie is 20 3/4".
Biggest smallie is 19 3/4".

My 7 year old sons biggest smallie is 21" on July 25th of this year.
I want to puke. j/k

Mudman,
To answer your question about your co-workers claim at a 24 incher......
I doubt it.
Was it closed mouth/pinched tail?
If so, it was a potential record.
I'll put a hundred on the fact it wasn't 24 inches(crossing my fingers behind my back). But thats just my opinion.

the 23"-24" inchers do exist. ive seen a couple caught and even more swimming in some spawning grounds that I know of.
No, i will not say where. The Thing about fishing is that your fellow fisherman will always dought wether or not you caught "the Big One", sometimes even with a picture. But it dosent matter, beacause you know it to be true, and that is all that really counts.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
