the worst thing about these high end sticks is when kids buy a stick because it's cool and it doesn't fit him at all. He picks a curve because he likes the player's name on the stick, he buys a flex that's too stiff to begin with and then cut 4 inches off making it even stiffer, he buys it because of the look rather than how it performs, for most youth players these sticks add nothing to their play.

I guess it would be like if I brought a ten gauge out dove hunting. Gun looks cool, its a brand that's cool, and heck I need another ten gauge "backup" so I have two of the wrong tool for the job.

He's a smidge under 6 feet for what it's worth. If you guys are tall it will improve your stick handling, easier to play the puck when it's near your feet.

Funny thing was as a second year Peewee we were out of town in Duluth and he left his sticks at home, he rode up with another family. I went to the local sporting goods store and bought a cheaper stick that actually, in my mind, fit him better. He scored 2 goals and bailed on the $200 stick his Grandma bought him earlier in the year. She wasn't happy, I was...

Let's keep this rolling until the Wild disappoint us again.

Sure is funny how that works leech, when my youngest was playing we both shot lefthand and I thought cool I have all kinds of hand me down sticks. Was working good until she was the only one on the team wooden stick.lol. saved me a little money anyhow.

Don't know how to post pictures, but I still have an old wood Christian bro's wood stick with the white shaft and black blade. The price on it, $5.99 I would use it for boot hockey and shooting pucks with the kids in the driveway.

As far as skates go, My Ultra Tacks Pro model I bought my first year of Jr. hockey cost me $135.00 back in 1980. The Jofa's I had before that, probably 3 years earlier were $40

Looks like I missed a lot of action that past couple of days. I will try and keep up and keep it brief.

My kids are using wooden sticks for as long as possible.

Scoring hasn't been much of an issue this year, we are on pace to score way more goals than last season, however we are also on pace to give up a lot more goals than last season. Obviously that points to our goaltending issues and maybe some soft team play.

No reason to give up or trade Brodin or any of the young guys we have until we know what we have, that can be a recipe for disaster. Far too many examples of guys taking time to develop and breaking out to just trade guys because they are having an off year. Two years ago Scandella spent most of the season in the AHL, now he is breaking out at 23. Zucker was garbage last year, now amazing. Should we trade Nino now because he's cooled off? Heck no, you wait and coach them until they find that level of consistency. We saw some flashes last year and this year of what they can do. Panic selling and trading because the season isn't going as planned is just plain stupid.

Brodz and Carter listed on the trading block Wild would like to move and Haula listed as most likely candidate to go. IMO would not get much for Brodz but something is better then nothing at this point IMO, Carter might be a good candidate for a playoff team looking for some grit and Haula could probably use a change of scenery and coach.

3 of my autographed Sticks. Easton Synergy is a stick Modano used in 2004 WC, had dinner with him and few other players one evening, Yashin Mission stick and the Bauer stick signed by Michael Peca I got while traveling with the Islanders on a 6 game stint in 2004 as well.

Back when I played our team sticks we got for free were Northlands (all straight) and we had to heat them to curve them! Then towards the end we upgraded and got Christian Bros, pre-curved and we thought we died and went to heaven. LOL

back 35 years ago my mom just loved when I was "baking" sticks over the stove top. Most ended up curved at the top of the blade and the bottom didn't move much. I learned you can't just bend them under the door and also that melted fiberglass hurts for a long time if you touch it. Thank God it was before smoke alarms.

I would take a picture of my old Paul coffee's but they got cut down for the kids.lol.
Oh the Coffey curves! I remember those vividly. We used them and they had such a wicked curve on them, one of my teammates got a misconduct penalty because the opposing coach had the ref check the stick with the dime!

Kuemper assigned to Iowa for rehap stint. Hopefully he gets the kinks worked out.

I can't help it...Rehab? Maybe thats the problem with our squad. The Charlestown Chiefs never sent anyone down for rehab, they were drunk on the ice...

Wild site said conditioning...I assume it's just a term they use to say he's going down to get some work. Kind of like our new upper body or lower body injury mumbo jumbo.
