The Twins have acquired left-handed pitcher Tommy Milone from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for outfielder Sam Fuld. Milone made 16 starts for Oakland this season and posted a 6-3 record with a 3.55 ERA (96.1 IP, 38 ER). He will report to Triple-A Rochester. Additionally, the Twins have recalled first baseman Kennys Vargas from Double-A New Britain to take the spot of Fuld on the 25-man roster.

Why would they send him to Rochester... He is better than what they have now as a starting pitcher. He could be their ace on the Twins staff.

What I find funny about this trade is Fuld was originally in Oakland this year but the Twins Claimed him off waivers smile So basically get him for free, then drive the value up and turn him into something needed....Nice!

Not a bad deal at all. Fuld showed very little, how the heck did they get a viable rotation guy for him?

With our recent track record you can almost guarantee he will make the 2015 AL All Star Team.

Now they need to fire Rick Anderson and get a real pitching coach in to help these young prospects

I agree 100%. We can get all the new pitcher's we want but without a better than average pitching coach, they will not improve. Trouble is, until Gardy is gone, Anderson I am sure stays.

We do have a coaching issue and have had one for some time, seems we trade away a lot of players who shortly after leaving the Twins, end up playing a lot better with a better than average amount getting into the all star game.

Only thing I can say is that our coaching lacks, we trade them away and then bingo, they are so much better. Maybe the Twins mgmt. Do not have eyes to see this.

Personally, I would trade away Mauer if we could get much for him the last years of his contract. be nice to dump that spendy contract and then maybe get 1 or 2 decent starters. I know this won't happen but one can dream.
