FHFO
I bought a ice castle at the end of last season. I got out only once. What are some things I should have or add? I have hole sleeves, I put SS cables on winches, and put some hole lights in. Is there a good ice rod holder ? I'll get a slush copter too. Any more ideas? Coldwater Crappie Guy
Rattle reels, a spice rack, a rubber mat to put boots and shoes on, extra fuses and light bulbs, small tool kit, plastic cups and silverware, paper towels and trash bags.. paper plates and bowls, ziplock bags. Extra keys somewhere just in case.... There is a lot of stuff you can use. But too much is a pain also. Have fun and lets hear some more great ideas! Hawg
1=Honda or Yamaha 2000 watt generator,3000 if it's close in price only because a 2000 is already heavy.
B-man715
There are lots of nice things that make a trip more enjoyable...... TV's, fish cams, satellite etc.But "must haves" for me are not really for the fishing, more like for surviving and getting off the lake. Two shovelsTow strap6x6 timber and a come-alongJackIce chiselSpare cable, cable clamps, pins, tire, keysToolsTORCH (I even carry a spare w/extra one pounders)WD-40Strong MagnetBackup heater (I carry my Big Buddy and an electric milk house heater)PLENTY of propane, in several tanks.5-10 gallons of gas for the generator/truckJumper cablesSpare phone charger2-3 battery chargersStarting fluidHair DryerTwo ice augersMy previous house was hydraulic, so I carried spare hoses and fluid. I'm sure there are a few things I am forgetting, but all of these things keep a trip from getting cut short, and get you off the lake. Another thing, always have the truck fueled up before you hit the ice on a big lake or secluded lake. Worst case scenario you can use it for surviving in if the fit hits the shan. -Hope this helps

PurpleFloyd
I would add to that list fishing poles and a tackle box.
RiverChuckNorris
I double checked the thread to confirm an incredulous omission by all. I can only attribute the miss by all of you as an overall lackadaisical attitude precipitated by the fact that we are mid-summer and a bit off our collective ice fishing "game".Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, forget the BEER!!!!
