Holy cow. Just looking at the pictures make me nervous, can't imagine actually standing on ice that thin. But I bet it doesn't take long to cut a hole or clean it out!

After seeing these pictures, I'm going to watch some ice fishing videos, tonight.

My two favorite things: Fishing from the boat in October and November and ice fishing.

Nov. 24th was my first day on the ice last year and the earliest I've been out. If the cold comes hard enough, I'm hoping to be out right after Thanksgiving this year. Can't wait

Ugh, y'all can keep the ice for yourselves for a while.

But, come November, I'll be as amped up for it as anyone. Always seems to work that way.

I was out in Colorado last year so on October 26th I hiked up the mountains a few miles and found some ice and a few hungry Brook Trout. We could have very well been the first out in the lower 48.

I was on the ice November 28th (Thanksgiving Day) last year here in Des Moines, IA. Ice was only 2-2.5" thick at the most, so safety was a must. Earliest I had ever been out ice fishing here in central Iowa and I caught a decent largemouth to boot.
