Pherris
I mix the olive oil, butter(melted) and salt together in a small bowl and pour over the sliced potato. I also keep a bit of the oil mix and baste about 20-30 min in for really crispy ones. Very tasty!
leechlake
got these babies in the oven right now, half way done and opening up perfectly. Probably will have to experiment on getting them cut a bit further down next time but I may be wrong. At least the topic at the top for a few minutes won't be hard boiled eggs!!! hockeybc69
Put em on the smoker. I do smoked potatoes periodically.... Delish!
leechlake
they family loved them. I like the smoker idea. Next time I'm going to poke a hole in one end to see if they come apart easier.
Todd Caswell
an easy way to cut them down close to the bottom without going through is take a steel kokob skewer run it through the potato at the depth you want to cut to..
bogman
An easier way is to lay the peeled tater in a wooden spoon and cut to the spoon, works great.
eyeguy 54
why peel it? wifey did one the other day and she said it was good. but not better than fries.
PurpleFloyd
I have been making those and they are great. I have been sprinkling shredded cheese over them during the last few minutes of cooking as well and next time we are going to cook some chili to go over the top.
