  1. We have done just as you are planning. Built a 24x24 shell and insulated and put bunks across one side. Built on a foundation of railroad ties. Propane heater and an old range to start. A couple years later we partitioned it off and sheet rocked the inside. Has worked well for us.
  2. You'll need pectin to do this. Get the low sugar sure-gel and with the box will be an insert with recipe for making jelly. Good luck.
  3. An easier way is to lay the peeled tater in a wooden spoon and cut to the spoon, works great.
  4. Archtek's idea with the bread is spot on. It has never failed me. I always take the aerator off before turning the water back on though.
  5. This is going to be a go to meal at the shack and at home. I think I might add some carrots next time.
  6. Here's a few that fit in with Northern MN. Poachers Caught!: Adventures of a Northwoods Game Warden More Poachers Caught!: Further Adventures of a Northwoods Game Warden Two books by Tom Chapin (short stories suitable for the bathroom) Country Boy: Adventures from an Untroubled Childhood A Hunter's Journey: The Education of an Outdoorsman A Hunter's Year Three books by Dan Prusi
  7. For a quick reference you can try nadaguides.com or edmunds.com
  8. I had a Bushnell cam and it worked for 2 days and went bad. Sent it back. They sent me a new cam that worked less than a day. Tried several times to contact them after that via email but never got a response. I will NEVER buy a Bushnell product again. Bought a $50 cam from Maynards on sale and am very happy with it.
  9. Sorry to hear about the bum knee. Our Lab blew his knee out and the vet suggested surgery as well. We opted not to do the surgery. 1. He was kind of a roamer at times and this slowed him down a bit at first. 2. A dog's knee is set up a little different than ours and the muscles kind of keep the joint together. Over a years time you could hardly notice a difference except when he ran hard after a bear. He lived for 5 years non surgery but got cancer and had to be put down for that. Your situation may be different of course. Hope it goes well for you.
  10. Holy cow !! Heading out to West Yellowstone soon. Would it be advisable to have an avalanche beacon if mostly trail riding and doing some boondocking?
  11. I think its good for a year but it may vary from county to county. Best to check your local regulations.
  12. Ole's tractor Sven is passing by Ole's hay shed one day when through a gap in the door he sees Ole doing a slow and sensual striptease in front of his old red Massey Ferguson. Buttocks clenched, he performs a slow pirouette and gently slides off first to the right, then to the left. He then hunches his shoulders forward and in a classic striptease move, lets his braces fall down from his shoulders to dangle by his hips over his corduroy trousers . Grabbing both sides of his checked shirt, he rips it apart to reveal his tea stained vest underneath and with a final flourish he hurls his cap on to a pile of hay. "What on earth are you doing, Ole?" says Sven. "Jeez Sven, ye frightened the livin bejasus out of me!" says an obviously embarrassed Ole. "But me and the Missus been having some trouble lately in the bedroom department and the therapist suggested I do something sexy to a tractor! "
