Hey BuckSutherland

Being a GB fan all my life, which was in your list of teams that draft and develop. Which yes, they do a really good job of - but I can list off a few free agents they signed outside the box that were a big part of their suberbowls, if not largely responsible.

Charles Woodson

Des Howard

Santana Dotson

Reggie White - said to be the best free agent signing of all time.

Who says that? Cassel wasnt going to lead us to the playoffs. This D was way too terrible to make a run in January. WOW GURU, youre reaching there.

Cassel man-crush alert! Cassel man-crush alert!

You must not follow along very well on this forum, a lot of people have said it.

If you did follow along you'd know that I am not a big Cassel fan.

From Walter Football:

Vikings sign CB Captain Munnerlyn (3 years, $14.25M; $7M guaranteed): A Grade

I love this signing for Minnesota. Captain Munnerlyn was one of the top cornerbacks at the start of free agency, and he was unquestionably the best player remaining at his position as of Thursday evening. Munnerlyn, who had an outstanding 2013 campaign, will only be 26 in April. Thus, the Vikings are getting him at an incredible price.

The secondary was a huge weakness for Minnesota this past season, but that no longer will be the case. Xavier Rhodes figures to be even better than he was in his terrific rookie season. Harrison Smith will be fully back from injury. And now Munnerlyn will be able to start across from Rhodes or cover slot receivers. If the Vikings upgrade the other safety position, their defensive backfield will suddenly be a major strength.

This actually seems like a pretty good deal to me unlike most FA signings. Hope he works out.

Vikes just signed Derek Cox. 6'1"/195 CB 2009 3rd rounder

Had a very strong first few years in the NFL and then signed a 20M contract with Chargers and struggled with them. Chargers released him earlier this month.

Would be great if Zimmer could turn this guy around and have him be paired with Rhodes on the outside. Very interesting signing....

Apparently he(Cox) played very well in "man and press" coverage for the Jags (Pro Bowl Alt) and was asked to play more "zone" for the Chargers. He struggled with the "zone".

Zimmers strong suit is said to be putting the players he has is positions that they can excel at...I really like this signing a lot!

"the captain" was a very good signing. He reminds me of Winfield a little the way he plays. Great tackler and play maker. His last 4 ints have all gone to the house. Thats pretty impressive...

Liking what Spielman has done so far. This defense is gonna be fun to watch with Zimmer in charge. Gonna be completely different then Leslie's lame a$$ predictable cover (no-one) 2.

I hope we go defense in the first unless Manziel is there. He's worth the risk just for the entertainment factor

We won't know until mid-season how well these moves pan out, what we do know now is that this coach has a plan, Speilman trusts this coach, and is making very sound acquisitions and letting the right players go. I really wanted Leslie to succeed here but so far Zimmer is schooling the Vike's organization and fans on what a head coach with vision and purpose looks like. We have every reason to believe he will get more out of the skill set and talents of every player on the roster than Fraiser could.

Vikings re-signed WR Jerome Simpson.

He's a player the Vikings just can't quit. Simpson is presumably back on another one-year deal. Simpson returns as the Vikings' No. 3 wideout, and should primarily run opposite Cordarrelle Patterson on the outside, allowing Greg Jennings to operate out of the slot. Yardage-wise, Simpson is coming off a career year, but will remain no more than a WR4/5 for fantasy purposes in 2014.

Well, we wont be picking Watkins.

Chong is aight, I don't mind him as long as he's not ahead of Patterson on the depth chart, that is just REDONKULOUS. He can stretch the field and get Jennings in the slot in 3 wide sets to help move the chains.

Our D is shaping up nicely, can't wait to see the new look, it's been long overdue.

Steve Smith to the Ravens..........Hakeem Nicks to the Colts.....

I like Smith with the Ravens, I think he can do what Derek Mason did late in his career for the Ravens.
