Bering Sea Gold

Now before I get into my question, just wanted to preface it with a few facts.

Yes this show is full of drama and dumb a$$es, and that I only watch it on DVR so I can fast forward thru the drama and stupid stuff. I just like seeing how much gold the big barge outfit gets each time.

Ok, If there are any others out there that watch this show, I thought that last year the christine rose paid big bucks to get on a lucrative claim. So why is it that this other barge can be digging 200 yards away from them? Either there are holes in the story, or they are working together?

Just curious.

I like the Bering See Gold show better than Gold Rush right now. It seems a bit more realistic than Gold Rush and has more average Joe's looking for gold. As far as Gold Rush goes I will watch Parkers segments and the Kahoon Creek segments but fast forward through the Hoffmans stuff. The Hoffmans toubles sure seem way too made up most of the time (they always have multiple camera angles of each disaster) and each disaster is a "this might send us home issue" and then it always ends with a miricle recovery or fix.

In reality the gold claims are bought,They do have boundries.Just like land where the boundries can be steaked out, they have the same on the water GPS now days.Remember last year where the guy who was employing the girl.I dont remember names. But they were sued by a unknown woman I believe for mining her clain. Its a line but to define it on the water must be tough!

Yeah. Does anyone remember at the end of season 1 when they had the first ever claim auction for areas on the water? During and prior to season 1 there was no claims or boundaries to watch out for.

Some lady was at the auction (I think Season 1 Episode 8, "The Bitter End") buying up all the claims? Could have been that lady?

I would like to know how much these people get paid to be on the show since most cant catch any gold yet they are in debt and have there life savings into it but yet they keep coming back...Vern, Scott, and Steve

It would seem that they are making more money from the show than mining gold.

The Gal was allegedly broke, and then she is driving a newer truck....hmmm

A birdie told me they come close to losing money. He said the amt. of time the producers waste getting the perfect shots and the "do that again" translate to a lot of lost productivity. He even said the Gag Orders they are under almost make it not worth it. Yet, they are back this season.

I WAS looking threw adds in north Dakota Craigs list for operators &

THE producers of these shows had a add for heavy equipment operators

and gold miners So for the fun of it I answered it as I have done alot of crushing and washing and that's basically what they do

A pit I worked in deerwood every now and then we would find a speck of gold

I heard back in a few days and they want more info like where I lived age

pictures and time zone so I sent it all ,but havnt heard no more

pictues probably scared them off....lol or to old

Steve Pomrenke has a place near Royalton, mn. As for the claims bought at the auction I'm not quite sure. If I were a betting man I would say they are mining on other peoples claims who don't the have equipment to mine and pay them a percentage. When thats all mined they would mine their claim. Thats what I would do... If I remember right at the auction the claims they bought were good for 10 years or 50 years.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
