Justin Morneau signs with the Rockies

Looks like Justin will be reuniting with Cuddy out in Colorado for the next two years. I think he will do well in that hitter friendly park wink He will be a good replacement for Todd Helton until they can find somebody younger. I wish Justin the best of luck!

6.5 a year...Mauer 23 million a year. Lets make that trade and get Justin back. We'd get the better 1st baseman that way. I don't think Mauer seems comfortable at first reason he is still barking he wants to catch so he doesn't look stupid out there and we can blame the management for switching him to first.

Mauer is a good enough athlete that he'll figure out first base in no time. Remember Mornie when he first came up? Brutal.

He isn't even in the same league defensively as Mark Texiera, Mauer looked terrible at first what little he's played there. It's been Mauers club now and lately and he's softer than Charmin. I heard we're trying to sign someone who's good in the clubhouse, what does that say about our captain.

I think Morneau was a great signing for Colorado. Look what Cuddy did out there. Colorado has not signed a lot of big named bats in the past, Cuddy worked great and I'm sure Morneau will too.

Why does everybody seem to dislike Mauer...

I don't think anyone dislikes him, he just hasn't ever really lived up to the 28 mill they're paying him. We had higher expectations.

I think the expectations were for him to play more games and have similar power numbers he had the season before the big contract. Singles and walks are nice but not really enough from a guy making that's much $.
