also if you PS3 people think sony has the money and resources to compete with microsoft your crazy xbox could bury the PS if they wanted to, but a little competition never hurt anyone

Then why haven't they buried them? smile Obviously they wouldn't be nickel-and-diming their faithful followers if they could just "bury" Sony and reap ALL the money. I doubt it's a belief in good-spirited competition that's holding them back!

With MS forcing people to use the Kinect and requiring an "always on" internet connection I think they've made their own bed with this console and there won't be a version for gamers who don't want all the bells and whistles. Having one platform makes it easier for developers to design equipment and software so it is doubtful they will come out with a stripped down version any time soon. I read that MS has taken the stance that if you're a gamer and just want a simpler box, get the 360. smirk

Not that having different versions can't be done or hasn't been done, but at this time I think we're stuck with the XBOX One in its current form for a while...at least until MS realizes they're hemorrhaging buyers/subscribers at such a precipitous rate that they are forced to take action.

The XBOX One may be the new ZUNE. DOA.

I've been straddling the fence on which console to get, but as of now I've got one foot down on the PS4 side.

From what I have read about how Pre-Orders are going, I think most people are in your camp.

I think the PS3 was a better console, then the 360. But then I preferred how the games played better on the 360, compared to the PS3.

According to all of the hardware on each new system, they are created pretty equal. All of the other non sense about game share, must have internet connection, and the subscription bologna favors the PS4 big time, along with the cost for the system.

But I am not going to purchase both systems this time, like I did with the PS3, and the 360, so what ever decision I make, I cant just say, oh well, I will just buy more games for the other system. I am just going to wait this one out a bit, and not jump on the early systems, do some research on them, play them a bit, and see which systems friends buy. Then buy that system.

I know when the 360 came out, their first couple years of systems broke down often, and they didnt help you getting them fixed, which turned me off. Kinda bad, I went through 4 xbox 360 systems, and still have the original PS3, with not one problem ever with it.

actually microsoft spend around 2 billion extending the warranties for the 360, i got 3 under warranty now i have a slim and it has been good, the turn around to fix my broken ones was awesome too less than 7 days every time,i do know one this i will be waiting at least a year to get the new xbox so it can come down in price and work out the bugs, also isint there some thing about monopolizing a market.

So does the walk back of their DRM mandate change anyone's mind about the XBone?

I have to wonder if the damage has already been done and that this change still won't sway people back. Even if they knocked the price down I wonder if people would be baited back?

I want to like the xbox better, but at this point, I like the PS4 more. Time will tell. I will probably just wiat until after the new year to buy one of the systems, whichever I like best at that time.

The $100 difference to me is a big deal, but it isnt the deciding factor either.

The 180 on DRM has swayed me a lot more into thinking about the Xbox One. Before that happened I was really close on the PS4. I just wish one of these darn things would have backwards compatibility.

on paper the ps4 could be better than the xbox one but im still getting a xbox, but i will be waiting at least 6 months to a year after release to give the price time to drop, does anyone know if both xbox platforms can co exist in multiplayer games, like can i play ghosts with limit on my 360 if he has a one.

That will be a good question.....Which no one has answered that I know of.....That would be quite cool if it was the case though.

Well here goes.

The only definitive answer we have so far is that Xbox One and Xbox 360 players will not be able to play together, same goes for the PS3/PS4 players

That's what I found on the COD forums.

Last week MS announced the Kinect won't be required to use the XBOX One after the push back they received over this (among everything else).

Perhaps their change of heart on the Kinect had nothing to do with the negative feedback over the requirement to have it connected, but rather it gave them an avenue to reduce the price for the sake of competition.

You have to think they'll be coming out with an XBOX One package without the Kinect at a reduced price ($399? whistle ) to better compete with the PS4, but of course not until after they soak everyone on the initial surge of $500 units when they're released.

Glad I haven't pre-ordered either of them yet.

I jumped ship and pre-ordered the XBOX one direct from Microsoft. Last week gamestop was sold out, but now they are available again for pre-order. The kids are outgrowing the Wii, so Kinect will give me more options for active games. I liked the PS3 but with no backwards compatibility, nothing was keeping me from switching. I think this Christmas, prices will be insane along with zero availability if you don't pre-order.
