Call of Duty: Ghosts

Been in ND all week so tonight was the first time I got to play. Not sure what to think right now. Lots to digest after just an hour of playing.

The maps are definitely as big as advertised and I've noticed dry spells at times looking for an opponent.

I'm happy to see that the "rat maze" map layouts are gone where there were only 2-3 main corridors.

Still trying to figure out the point system and haven't bought any weapons yet. Not sure what to spend my points on so just kinda floundering about trying to figure out the game. Apparently you prestige each squad member until you get to 60 and then do that for the other 9 squad members? The first squad player is some chick that I renamed to "Butch" for the heck of it.

BTW, I changed my gamer tag to Walleye Jesus if you want to join up some time.

Maps are not that big just seem that way at first. I think these are the worst maps of any of the games so far, I dont like any of them.

Where did all the good game modes go? Dont care for the new ones. They messed with search now thats lame too.

I know some like HC mode, I dont, way too campy and hard to run and gun. The new damage level has core almost at hardcore level which is driving me absolutely crazy.

Had a lobby the other day on PS3 where one guy had a hacked account and had what appeared to be every perk possible. Was rank 60 of some level prestige, not even sure as I havnt seen any other prestiges yet.

I played Squads yesterday on a map that's a wrecked building complex (not sure of the name). The footprint of the map was huge to begin with and then you there was like three levels and you could access each level about 20 different ways. A "rat maze" is exactly what I felt like I was in.

The bots are definitely not morons like they were in previous CODs. I had it set to regular and I could win most heads up gun fights, but if I didn't see them right away, I was dead.

So, for those of you that have spent time on this game, is it worth it? Or would you buy Battlefield 4 instead?

from what i have heard from people that have played both cod is better, deitz can probably shed some light on this topic, that being said its a typical cod game a week after launch, everyone is camping to boost up their k/d guns are op and the maps are gigantic, after a few updates and some balancing i think it could be good, i hated mw3 when it first came out also and now its one of my fav games.

There are different types of squad games. Wargames allow you to select the bot intelligence. Squad assault is default intelligence, and they are good.

In general, I think this title is more of the same and I really wish they would change it up a bit. Every new game in the COD franchise feels more like a mappack addition then a new game.

Having said that I have fun with it, and there are plenty of ways to keep it semi fresh and from what I've heard has much more replay value than BF4.

I played it some this weekend and I really can't get into it like previous COD's.

The graphics are good but the sound is kinda mediocre.

I haven't had any controller throwable moments unlike BFLOPS where the lag and hit detection was absolute garbage right out of the gate. Ghosts seems to play really well in that regard.

I also like the fact that when you shoot someone, they die. No more mag dumps just to put them down. This probably has frustrated the run and gunners but too bad. BFLOPS seemed like an arcade version for kids while this is more tactical where you have to actually think about your movements instead of just running like your head is on fire and spraying bullets.

I like that they brought back the ability to buy your weapons and gear with tokens/squad points like BFLOPS instead of having to rank up to unlock weapons. I'm still struggling to find a gun that I like and have spent quite a few points already.

Speaking of load outs, I'm not sure I'm real crazy about how they are assembled with 10 different squad members and having to buy everything again for each soldier, or how the prestiging is going to work. We'll see...

I guess I'm confused on the prestige system. The way I read it was that you prestiged each squad member (level 60) and then unlocked/purchased another squad member and repeated the process for all ten squad members. Once all ten were prestiged it meant you then achieved prestige master status.

???

you can purchase them all at one time if you wanted to providing you had enough squad points

Yeah, I've already bought one just as a test, but I think you have to prestige all of them to achieve Master status. In other words, once you get to level 60 with one squad member if you don't swap to a new member it would be the equivalent of not prestiging in previous COD's.

so you only have to prestige them once each? thats not so bad then i thought it was 10 times each.
