Got the my other two sleds started last weekend, and off the trailer (where they are stored). I will never buy a sled without reverse again, I am too old wink with just a tilt covered trailer. Pulling them off about killed me, haha!

Got out on the lake to put them thru paces, but the trails were pretty carppy. Now with the warm weather, it will totally kill them, and likely even the lake. At least my trails to the lake are good and packed down, so they should stay intact. We need some snow!

Hey Walleyehooker, yep it has them on it. With there already being snow on the ground, I didn't have to tilt the trailer too much, so there wasn't much of a "slant" to help gravity help me though. I only have to do it once per season, as I just use trailer for storage, then keep them in garage ready to go.

I just needed a young person there to help me wink Next year I will wait for hockey playing grandson to help out, or hook up my other sled to pull them off, haha!

It maybe time for grandad to treat himself to one with a reverse on it! grin

Put on 129 miles riding from Stewart, MN to Granite Falls then rode the river bottom to Morton then trails back to Stewart. There one only back stretch in there for about 1 mile between Fairfax and Hector. The ditches seem to have plenty of snow, but as always more is needed.

Hate to sound like a Debbie Downer but I am going to pull my sleds into the driveway tomorrow and run the carbs dry. Been sitting primed since Thansgiving waiting to be used. Others might want to consider doing the same. You can always refuel it when the snow does come, but I dont like that gas sitting in there for more than a few weeks if possible.

I'm leaving tomorrow for I-Falls. The Arrowhead is finally listed in good condition so we are going to give it a try. We'll see what "good" looks like. Sounds like Thursday and Friday are gonna be chilly up there though. Brrrr eek

Be safe and give us a good report with some pictures of deep snow...wishful thinking I am! grin

The Orr area got about 8 inches on Thursday night. We were at Elephant Lake by 9 am Friday. After unloading, making a few adjustments and gearing up we were riding by 10. Put on a nice 200 with fresh snow on the Arrowhead, Haggerman and Slatinski trails, then up to Kettle Falls and back. Saturday morning was brisk (-22) but we headed out and and did some back country riding around Arbutus until we were low on gas then up to Ericsburg. Gassed up and made a dash for Birchdale where the trails were a bit sparse on snow, so we rode several miles of some very fluffy ditch along Hwy 11 back to the Arrowhead south to the lodge.

460 miles in 2 days...not bad for a first run of the year. Trails were a strong 8 out of ten!

I'm gonna try to load a video tomorrow but I still havent uploaded it from the new GoPro.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
