Joey And I boated Several each along with a few pike.

It was tough finding what they wanted but once we did it wasn't to tough to get a few.

They were shallow early in the morning like under the docks but they wouldn't touch worms or tubes but throw a spinner bait by that dock and they would blast out and pound it.

Later in the day they were in the submergent weeds and they wanted the spinner bait just above the weeds

Pike wanted the spinnerbaits along with a spoons

We got out yesterday after the storms for about 4 hours in the afternoon. Found them out in clumps of weeds in 3-5 feet of water. We caught about 30 total with most being 14 and 15 inchers but we also got a couple nice 17s. We got a few fish on senkos but the vast majority came on swim jigs and spinnerbaits.

Out for about 7 hours in the Park Rapids area. Didn't get any rain but it was windy. Many LM and SM. Biggest LM went 18.5 with 3 others breaking 18 and a handfull of 15-17s. Biggest SM went 17.5 and 6 others between 14-16. Also boated a high 20s pike and 18 inch eye.

Fished from 7:30-1:00 saturday. Caught a ton of fish, between the two of us, 80 Largmouth that ran ran pretty small 13-15" with a 17" being the biggest. We did see some males on beds and what looked like unfinished beds all over the lake. senko's and spinnerbaits where the most effective.

Was only out on Prior for a couple hours early. Spinnerbait was the most sucessful with a few on texas rigged craw. Was out again today on Prior and again the spinnerbait was top producer. Nothing huge but lot of fish.

Good Fishing!!

PS.

DNR was checking boats and if they arrived at the ramp with the plug in they got a ticket. Also I was amazed at how infested the lake is with zebra muscles. Sometimes we would pull in a weed and there were 10+ attached to on strand.

Hooked boat up at 6AM. got in truck. Drove 5 miles and started having major truck problems. Slowly started my way back home and had to pull over onto the shoulder because my truck was acting so goofy. Finally made it home after limping the 5 miles back at 25mph. backed boat into driveway. Got out to chalk tires and heard hissing coming from right trailer tire. Picked up a huge bolt in my short 10 mile journey. I assume I did it when I pulled off the road. So the truck malfunction saved me from having to change a flat on the road or at the launch. I think the truck has a clogged catalytic converter and I need to get the tire patched and use it for my spare now. So all in all It was a great day. Glad some guys got on fish. The fish gods just didn't see me getting on the water yesterday.

Fished an Eastern Wright County body of water today.

Fishing was Ok.

Got my butt kicked by the guy in the back of my boat.

The 2 of us put 5 in the boat that were 17 to 19". We had on 5 others that we never saw that came unpinned, all were as good if not better(based on the strong head shakes and drag peeling runs.) than the ones we actually managed to get in the boat.

Started the morning skipping Flukes under trees overhanging the bank.

Juan Grande was the guy in the back of my boat, his bigger fish came on a Senko fished on a Weighted EWG and a Texas Rigged creature bait.

We caught a handful of 12 to 15" fish and called it a day about 11:30.

Would have liked to stayed and fished in the wind since the bigger fish were coming off the outside weedline on the windy side of the lake, but we both had things to do this afternoon.

Sat AM was brutal. The lake I was on was really green, mix that with the front coming through I only fished an hour or so and bailed before the down pour came.

Today, fished about 3 hours with a friend who is somewhat new to fishing but we still did alright with 20-25 fish. He caught his on senkos and I caught mine on jig/pig and spinnerbaits. Two biggest, about 17", came on the jig.

Yesterday sucked, today sucked until I found a huge herd of hungry largies. After that it was game on for an hour straight - some of the best action I've ever had. So glad I decided to try one more spot before heading in!

I was up in the BWCA, and we did Ok on topwaters over shallow rubble/basketball-sized boulders....got maybe 20 or so, but it rained the ENTIRE week, so we didn't get out as much as we should've. None of them were the "normal" Crooked Lake monsters, so I'm guessing the females were a bit deeper, but we didn't want to stop fishing the poppers and buzzbaits long enough to look for them. smile

All those fish are post-spawn fish, tails and fins pretty much healed up and the huge bellies are full of small minnows and sunfish.

fished sunday from 8-3 at a local lake near me. Boated and release 30 lmb average 14-15 inches. Biggest I had that day was 18.5 inches. All in 4-6 foot of water. Jigs, spinners and cranks. All and all great day and I got to test out my new/used boat. Left the lake right before the sunday evening storm hit the cities.

Went out on the Bear Sunday found a inside corner that dropped from 6 to 18 fast and good weeds. had to anchor the boat in the wind. So my fishing partner was in great position as the back of the boat was the best place to fish the corner. I couldn't buy a fish, but he caught them on cranks, tubes, and, T-rigged worms. He didn't catch one under two pounds largest being 3lbs. He was a happy camper. I was too. He has spent many of days in the back of my boat watching me have a great day.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
