I'd say sound is a type of vibration, just to be nit-picky and difficult. I guess they're the same but different smile

to the OP... one of my roommates out of college was like your fishin partner. I made a game out of it, but honestly if we were fishing and he acted like he normally does... we wouldn't be fishing for very long.

The sounds may or may not bug the fish...but they certainly bug me, which has a much greater impact on my enjoyment!

Thin skinned, ehhhh? Don't like noisy fishing partners, don't like constructive criticism, don't like....

You never said, was it your house or his house? Most people would just handle it by not going with that guy again.

When roasting Marshmallow it easy to get them to close to the coals and get a flare up. Silverbulletguy and Blackjack are you going to be nice because I think you've got your marshmallow a nice golden brown already. By the way neggatively only has one g. Oops I hope that wasn't gas I just spilled on the campfire.

Go Bother The Others .. Not MUAH !!

Ok I stink at english and spelling too, but I need help with the last sentence. Did you mean "not MOI" which sounds like muah but is french me or did you mean "not MUAH" which would mean to not kiss.

years ago up on winnie when we had the winter with record lows -40 -50 a guy fishing next to us would start and run his truck often so it stayed warm it had loud duel exhaust and every time he fired it up we would slam the perch when he turned it off it would just be the regular bite.

Marshmallow, why do you have such a tough time answering the question of who owned the house you were fishing in? I sat here watching this thread and chuckling away but now I'm truly curious. Just answer the question.

man there are some uhh, harsh folks in here.

this is the internet, it's tough to figure some people out when you don't experience them in real life. you don't know anything about them. what do you know about me? The only thing you've got is what I write and how I write it.

sometimes folks should probably take a step back and think about the person that might be behind that avatar and that post and treat them properly.

I enjoy both "kinds" of fishing....the careless, noisy, beery kind, and the sober, silent kind. Tonight it was beautiful on the ice...no one around, no radio on, no beers, no buddies, no noise. But sometimes it's fun to be out there with a guy or three, having a few to drink, listening to tunes (as long as we're not too close to anyone, of course), joking around, etc.

If your buddy knows your preference regarding this issue and chooses to ignore it, then I'd say either 1) find a new fishing buddy, 2) go alone, 3) do your best to ignore it, or 4) bring separate fishhouses.

I think fish can hear and sense vibrations extremely well. I have never heard anyone who is knowledgeable about fishing say " in order to attract fish you have to be noisy as he))". I also think if my fishing buddy was bothering me that much I'd look for a new partner or try some solo fishing.

Was up Nort' With A Buddy This past New Year Weekend.. All Weekend I Had To Put Up With Him " Slammin " Doors .." Slammin Cupboards " .. Tipping Things Over .. We Got Into A Dis - Agreement Over The Issue .. I Told Him What I Thought Of All The Consistant Noise .. And Fish House Stereo " Cranked Up " .. He Said Who Ever Thinks Noise And Comotion Effects Fishin' Doesn't Know Much .. It Doesn't Effect Much .. Everytime I Would Walk Out The Door I Would Close It Normally .. Not Slam .. You Ever Fish With People Like This .. It Affects Especially When The Ice Is Not That Thick .. Or Snow Cover To Muffle Some Of The Noise .. If I Don't Know What I Am Talkin' About .. Than I Guess I Do !!!!

It sounds like Marshmallow is his wife grin

Seriously though, It may bother me a little too, but you have to know what kind of fishing you are getting into before you go. Some times I am serious and fish hard all weekend and other times I kick back with the rattle reels down and watch TV all weekend. Cant take it so serious dude.

    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
