Alex_Ebertowski
Mine would have to be experiment with different techniques in different situations and to fish more crankbaits. What are yours?
74mph
Mine would have to be fishing each day individually, follow insinct, and move around more.
fishuhalik
mine is to find a new better job so i can actually afford bass fishing! i swear getting properly set up for bass is as much as a 2nd mortgage...
mww24
just purchase a few things at a time fishuhalik. Before you know it you'll be like why do I have all this [PoorWordUsage]. And you for sure don't have to have a 60,000 dollar bass boat to catch fish.
Stick in Mud
Man, Fish, it isn't THAT expensive. I catch tons of 21'' bass in MN and I don't need more than a MH baitcaster and a generous ruler.
EBass
Quote:follow insinct, and move around more. Yup, same here. I focused a ton on the deepweed edge even if the shallow bite was better. Believe it or not I seem somewhat comfortable fishing 16-18 feet. A couple years ago anything over 10 feet and I was confused since I couldn't see said structure. I may try even deeper, or just try to get out as much as I can. And fish some new lakes.
Chris519
Fish at least 50 days like I did this year. Some years are harder to get on the water as much as I want to. More is better.
bassfshin24
Mine would be to start using my graph more. Need to learn the in's in out's of reading the screen and knowing what I'm fishing. I have a hard time finding structure I can't see. Really wish I could afford a sideimaging unit!
bASS_BLASTER
Before the boat, I fished from shore, fished the shorelines from a canoe and did fairly well. Then I received a boat for my birthday and I started drop shotting deep weedlines and points, jig&pig edges, run and gun because it was fun. I forget the shallows and forget to win tounaments. I did some calculations and found that I spent 60% junk fishing, running and gunning. In tournaments, I was in the money only twice in 2011.Next year, I'm going back to my roots.1. Yeah, a rooster tail looks cool but burns a hole in my wallet. Less running and gunning.2. Always have to fish those tall grass and shallows when the time is right.3. Pre-fish, pre-fish and pre-fish to eliminate junk fishing.
fishuhalik
Man, Fish, it isn't THAT expensive. I catch tons of 21'' bass in MN and I don't need more than a MH baitcaster and a generous ruler. factor in a decent boat $8000, the electronics i want $1000, truck $6000, $50 in gas for each time you go, at least 10 rods, reels, & line for 10 setups $3000, lures for 100 different presentations around $1000, misc. stuff another $1000, you're looking at $20k, easy. obviously you can get by way cheaper than that, but thats what i want. i shoulda been a dr... Raider4ever
I should fish deeper but I am having too much fun "walkin' the dog and hoppin' the frog". So, I guess my resolution is to catch two fish in water over my head (doubling last year's total).
thatoneguy
I want to fish in my first bass tourney in 2012. Anyone need a partner?
Superduty
I resolve to catch a MN bass (largemouth or smallmouth) in every month of the year. I have October, November, and December covered from 2011. If I can get January and February done, I should be home free. (as long as I can stay off the injured list for 2012!) Stick in Mud
Well, Fish, you may need 20 grand. I'm sticking with my generous ruler and crappy old canoe. Toss in some senkos and a topwater frog or two, and I'm all set.
fishcast
I hope to get out much more for SMB and get on some more of their mid summer and late summer patterns
CrowWingBasser
My resolution would be to fish at least 20 hours per week, and to slow everything down & concentrate on my strengths. I thought I did fish slow but this fall I spent a lot of time anchored - my, what a difference!!
Doufish2
Mine is to carry way less equipment in my boat this year. I load everything in the spring and use maybe half of it. You never know when ya need a obscure bait that has not even been opened yet, but, my goal is not to put tackle in my boat that won't get used all year. Dylan33
Mine would be to become a more "well rounded" bass fisherman. I rely WAY too much on using senkos and worms. I want to get better with other tactics, drop shot and cranking are on the top of the list.
RK
Hmm... I haven't even unpacked all my crud from last season much less starting thinking about next season too hard, but... - Spend some more time experimenting with swim jigs during mid season, especially using them in deeper water and away from shallow cover. I've been kind of forgetting about them once I got into July and August, but had some real eye-opening experiences with them last fall that's making me rethink that. - Carry less stuff in the boat. I got a *lot* better about this last season, but I still probably carry more than I need to, especially when it comes to plastics. This is basically an excuse to goof around with tackle boxes all winter, but what the hey... - Fish shallow more during mid-summer. I seem to be the opposite of at least some of you, but I tend to fish weedlines a lot during the summer and forget about the shallow fish more than I should. I don't like fishing docks all that much, but it's something I need to do more of on a couple lakes in particular. - Spend more time figuring out suspended smallies. This is probably an endless process. The more I learn, the less I think I know...RK
Stick in Mud
I'm in the same (metaphorical) boat, Dylan...I'm thinking of resolving to use MORE senkos, though.
