1johntimm
So what type of mileage would one get using 87 Octane as compared to a higher octane?
Scott K
The higher the octane, doesnt increase millage, but will have a small increase in power, if the engine is built to run higher octanes. If anything, a higher octane fuel, will actually decrease fuel economy, but increase the power slightly.
rundrave
I have been truck shopping for well over a year after my Tacoma got wrecked and totaled. I cant believe what truck prices are going for especially the used ones. After months of test driving, and searching for that one deal that would get me to pull the trigger I finally decided on the Tundra Crew Max. If $$$ wasn't an option I would have gotten the new Ecoboost hands down. But I was able to get a Tundra Crew Max in my budget that I could pay cash for. It's used but had one owner and very low miles and has what I wanted. I have owned and driven 5 different Toyota's since the 90's and have never had to turn a wrench on any one of them (I cant say that for the other brands we have owned) and that's probably what ended up swaying my opinion in the end. Scott K
Nice! You have to go with what you are most comfortable with, since you will be the one driving it, and paying for it.
