Grief & Prayers

I was just ready to come into work this morning when my wife yells at me about a plane crashing into the World Trade Center.

I was stunned as I watched what unfolded.

Then I was overcome with grief and sadness. I really didn't care about the trade Center so much, it was all the people who suffered that caused my grief. I'm still stunned and grieving.

Those people, their families and friends are in my prayers. I feel a small part of their grief.

I had to say this on the board to reach out in some small way and connect with those who will say a heartfelt prayer for the victims of this disaster.

I hope most of you are also saying a prayer for the victims of those senseless attacks.

It reminds of the famous words:

Ask not for whom the Bell tolls, for it tolls for thee.

I quit working at 11:30am after hearing on news how many people the building holds (50,000).

Us too pray for these families and join the whole world in this moment of grief.

It is going to be very different for us, from now on. This is something we will live through for a long time.

Please donate blood if possible and feasible, that's the least we can do for whom is in need.

God bless everybody.

Val

I feel so fortunate to be here and to have my wife, my friends, and family. I pray for the families who lost loved ones and for our president and government, that they will make the right decisions.

Something like this really puts things into perspective, how important our families, friends, and communities are....even this community, fishing minnesota, I feel fortunate and lucky to be a little part of this group and to have shared something with everyone here. But, more importantly, I feel lucky to wake up tomorrow, and have the chance to make a difference, and be the type of person we all want to be. To be thankful for everything.

God Bless

Joe

God bless and God speed to all involved with todays tradegy.
After watching the tape of the Palistineians (spelling?) who jumped for joy after watching the planes hit the trade center I couldn't get over how much hate there is in the world.

I still can't believe what happened today. It makes me both sad and angry, Angry because this makes it so nobody feels safe, at there job, at home, while traveling, or when helping others who are in need. And sad because of the loss of lives.

I really had to step back today and look at myself. Think about whats most important to me. And realized that I'm not invincible, I'm not granted any alloted time here on earth. I need to apreciate everthing that I have been given. And I need to start right now!! I still have a chance to tell the people that I care for how important they are to me, all these people who died today can't.

So enjoy your time, with your family, your friends, heck even say something nice to somebody you dont like. Go out side and breath some fresh air, and enjoy it.

I will say a prayer tonite for these people who died. And I hope the government will find the people responsible and take care of them any way possible.

Lord be with us all

Greg

We can't even begin to fathom what might be going through the minds of children, mothers, fathers, spouses, or friends that don't know if they will ever see their loved one again.
I can't believe that an act of HATE has hit so close to home.
We need Gods help now - for the families of those killed - for our nations leaders - and yes, for ourselves.

I guess I really don't know what to say, so I am just getting my thoughts down. "Unbelievable" is the word that comes to mind.

God bless everyone!!

How do I explain this to my 7 & 8 year old daughters? I want them to understand what has occured, but I DO NOT WANT THEM TO LIVE IN FEAR!

I think I need to blow off work today...grab my waders and head to the river...visit with God and attempt to regain some perspective.

To target the innocent for the sake of a political or theological beliefs has no honor, takes no courage, provides no glory, furthers no cause.

I personally can not visualize any God of anyone's understanding looking upon these acts with favor.

I pray that the innocent will not continue to suffer for the acts that have came to pass on this horrific day.

I fear the retribution for these deeds will be great, and yet more innocents will die.

I also pray the world will no longer tolerate harboring the individuals responsible for any acts of terrorism, on anyone, anywhere, at any time.

My heart and prayers go's out to all the families who suffer from today's act of cowardice and also to the individuals who must aid the victims in their time of need.

I just can't find the words to describe how I feel about this tragedy. I am shocked about this terrorist act and my feelings towards those responsible for this...well, I will keep that to myself. We cannot let this behavior continue as it has been getting worse year after year. As a nation, we must be strong and not let these fools bring us down in any way, shape or form. We can only grow stronger.

My prayers are with the innocent victims. God bless!

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures
He leads me beside still waters;
he restores my soul.
He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Yea, though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death,
I fear no evil, for Thou art with me.

Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
You prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever."

It has been a very sad two days now and more sad days to come.As I watch and listen to reports my eyes water. How can such a terrible thing happen? At a momment I am filled with anger then sadness overcomes.I patiently await for the authorities to discover who is responsible. When that time comes I will support fully any action by our government to punish and bring them to justice.
We must all stand strong as a nation now.Show your pride.Stay strong. And pray for those who have been victimized by this awful event.

When I was eight years old color TV was still relatively new. One of our neighbors at the time got a Brand New RCA console job with all the perks. It was such a big deal he had a party to show it off. Most of the block gathered to see what there favorite shows looked like in color. Unfortunately the First View of Color TV we all had was Robert Kennedy's assassination. Horror Shock and Disbelief are the words that I heard. One of my younger neighbors said "Daddy this is just TV right? What other shows has he been on?" I spent most of my day yesterday feeling like I was eight years old again. And Looking at my eight year old step son thinking how in the world do I explain this. I spent my evening Taking care of things like making sure both the boys did homework, and Making Dinner, and getting them to bed.
At about 10:30 last night I saw a video clip of a NY Firefighter telling his wife to call all the children and tell them he was alright. "tell them I love them and I love you and I'm alright." It was at that moment I wept uncontrollably.
I have always quoted the Twelve step adage that " either God is taking care of us or talking to the ceiling is good for you." I spoke to the ceiling a great deal yesterday, and this morning. What more can I do but pray for those who have lost their lives or lost loved ones but pray for their well being and comfort.

What a terrible cowardly act! Two days after this tragedy I'm still in shock and on the verge of tears every time I turn on the television. I want those responsible for this act in any way to be brought to justice by our government and the lord as well. The country is very angry as a whole. We need to be careful that we direct this anger out on those who truly deserve it and not turn on our own citizens who have Arab roots. I have heard several instances where this has happened which saddens me all the more. I continue to pray for those affected by this as I don't know what else I can do.

GOD BLESS THIS GREAT NATION AND IT'S PEOPLE!

not really sure that I SHOULD POST THIS, but I will leave religious names and company names out. A COMPANY in st cloud hired a group of these certain across the sea persons-- on second shift they applauded the hits on the towers and cheered as they bent and kneeled to the east or west--officers and security gauds watched the parking lots carefully as they left the end of the shift ---isn't it something that they come here for a better life , and slap the U.S. in the face;its closer to us than one thinks.

Let's not forget that of the seven million "certain across the sea persons" living in the U.S., many lost their lives in WTC. Let's not forget that these "certain across the sea persons" are doctors, nurses, fireman, police officers and are in Manhattan and Washington RIGHT now, digging out remains.

Let's not forget that what we see on TV is only one side of the story, we aren't being shown the grief and disgust of "certain across the sea persons", but search a few Web sites and you'll see the other side.

Let's not incite racial hatred by the actions of a few "certain across the sea persons", it is not representative of a whole.

And let us remember — regardless of color or creed, we have one common denominator — our blood ALL runs red.

I try to understand all the emotions expressed by many. Some make me proud. Some move me. Some make me sad. Some make me angry. I am very thankful that we live in a country where we can communicate our opinions, ideas, and ideals without punishment.

We are lucky to live in America.

I am very sad about all those lives lost.
