Predictions for May/June?

Well it seems like the Twins have won more games in May already than they did all of April lol. How is the No-hitter and the series against the Sox going to affect the next couple series? And potentially the next month?

I dont care if the Sox are a "bad" team this year. They are a bitter rival for the Twins and any time you can beat your rival in their barn your coming out better than you went in.

Windy, your perceptions are spot on, neither team has anything to hang their hat on. Neither will make the playoffs. Under achievers. The Twins are hanging their hat on the fact that they have players "injured". How many "obliques" can a person pull? There is no "Team" in Minnesota. Just my opinion.

Anybody who thinks Cleveland and/or KC are still gonna be in this thing at the end are cracked. It's not like we have any world beaters in this division that are going to stand in the way for very long.

The Twins will make slow and steady progress back through a very weak division to make it a race again down the stretch, just like always. Remember WAY back to last year when they were like, 12 games out at the AS break? You had all written them off then, just like now, but we still remember what happened then don't we.

Jump ship off the bandwagon now while the gettin's good so the rest of us can have the good seats for the long road ahead.

I think that if Twins are 10+ games out by All-Star break they're done for the season. But you never know with this division. Some teams leading division might go in the tank and other teams chasing them might just win enough and win the division. Twins have to solidify that infield. Hopefully, Plouffe will do better than the other two, and the return of Nishy (and others) will help.

KC and Cleveland are just as capable of winning this division as any of the other 3. They are the youngest, and lets be frank- the Central is weak. Has been for a long time. We have sent 2 teams to the WS in the past what, 10+ seasons, that isn't anything to hang your hat on. One thing each team in the Central has going for it is they get to play the other horrible teams in the division alot. I hate interleague anymore, it has lost all of its novelty, but if they take that away, our beloved Twins will have to play the Yankees, Red Sox and other, better teams more often.

The royals are already fading. Its just a matter of time before cleveland does

Not very inspiring Sled...so we are and have been what people have said all along the last few years. The best of the worst and the worst of the best?

baseball is a game of money

Got that right !!!!

All one has to do is look at the teams in the east and watch how there 7,8 and 9 hitters just crush the ball!

We may be in first in our division again at the end of the year but that is about as good as it will get.

If we went back to a balanced schedule I think it would show just how weak the Central really is every year.

4 American league teams have salaries higher than the Twins. Look at Tampa, Toronto, and Baltimore. whistle

They are spending alot of money on players that have been drafted and gone through our own farm system. We need to spend the big bucks on FA's. The team that went out and spent this past off season and kind of impressed me were the Nats. Almost looks like they are counting on Strasburg being back to form next year and making some serious runs in the upcoming seasons. The Brewers were another team that spent and made a nice trade getting Grienke. Those are the things I would like to see us do. The Yankees have a very small handful of people on their roster every year that actually came up through their system

toronto might have challenged our twins for the central division several times if that is where they played. baltimore probably not but then again its hard saying how they would do if they didn't have to play the stronger east teams so many times every year. there's no disputing that we all know how well our twins have fared against east teams even in our stronger seasons.

Yep, Greebs- if we ever make the post season, cross all of our fingers and hope for a wild card out of the west, otherwise we get stuck against an east team. Another Selig brainstorm, wild cards can't face a same division foe in the first round of the playoffs. Seligs got that thing stitched on way too tight. Top overall in the playoffs should face the wild card, regardless of their division.
