Wacky Rig Hooks...what do you use?

The widegap finesse hooks by gamagatsu is what I have always used.. I have a bud that uses mustad long shank with a weed guard.. I recently just bough the new wacky hook by Gamagatsu with a weed guard built on a kahle style hook and look forward to using it this summer.

I us whatever's handy... I have some Gamakatsu weedless finesse wide gaps that work pretty good. I have some Owner wacky hooks that are good - plus they're rgeen, so they're cool looking. Mosquito hooks are fine and I use them a lot since I have scads of them for drop shotting. Northland weighted weedless wacky hooks are pretty slick too.

I don't think it matters too much, as long as the hook gap is about twice the width of the plastic.

I have fished wacky rigs a lot in the last two years and have caught a lot of bass. I think I prefer a weighted hook, it makes it fall a bit erratically and I've had better success. Maybe it's a confidence thing, I'm gonna try to find some with weed guards this year!

On Deitz' advice above, I ordered some of the new wicked wackys in 2/0.

I have used the finesse weedless wide gap in the past. Only problem was the weed guard getting twisted up after a couple of fish. Hope the new model will help this problem.

This is kind of an interesting way to try Wacky rigging and it really protects/saves your Senkos.

Buy a couple bass'n nuckleball jigs from fin-tech and some small rubber bands and you're set.

The weight of the jig is hardly noticable on the drop but helps in the cast.

I use the hair rubber bands I stole from the wife:
