Who has no land lines and just uses their cell

Been thinking of doing this as having both is too costly. However, my internet provider, land line, and DISH are all with one comapny. I have a cell through AT and T and was wondering if I could get all this, minus land line, in an At&T package?

I'd like to do that but my dish and internet provider are on the same account as my land line. Could I get my dish and internet provider through my cell company??

I really rarely, if ever, use my land line yet I'm paying for it

Verizon has a deal right now to put your land line onto their cell service. $20/month with unlimited calling. Very easy switch and you do keep your same number. We use a base station with satellite cordless phones scattered throughout the house. Not sure how it would work for individually hardwired phones but would guess they have a solution the way they are pushing it.

If you have dish network, you will pay an extra $5/month if you don't have your reciever plugged into a landline. I have a line bundled with my internet service for $15 a month. It's basically the same price for me not to have one.

We're right there. We WERE at $225, +/-, but then frontier called and said if we bundled our Dish into the same account, it would drop to $150 + tax.

That was 3 months ago, still separate accounts.

If your dish receiver has an ethernet port you can connect it to your home network and get the $5 charge removed from your bill.

I haven't had a landline since 2000. I'm not missing a thing, except I rarely get telemarketers....so I guess I could get landline service again if I really missed annoying phone calls.

We had high-speed internet and DirecTV. Just cut the cord with DirecTV last week and am not missing it. I only miss the Twins games but enjoy listening to John Gordon. Mrs. SkunkedAgain and I have been way more productive without it.

It seems so ridiculous to think about paying hundreds of dollars each month for phone/internet/cable television when I could be fishing.

a little food for thought... i was reading something awhile back and it asked "What is one thing you never heard 20 years ago when talking on a phone?"... "Where are you?"

I haven't had a land line in probably 8 years... maybe more...

to answer the OPs question.. you can.. for the internet part.. via Phone2Modem options your cell provider offers.. not too sure about TV really.. other than using the web to stream shows/netflix.. but remember you are with At&t.. which they have a limit on the amount you can download.. even on a "unlimited plan".. think its like 2-5gb.. which is not a lot especially if you plan on streaming a lot...

I think I'd consider VOIP a landline. Sure the technologies are different, but its not connecting wirelessly to a cell tower.

Same as if you had a phone connected to your router at home through someone like Vonage. I'd also consider that a landline.

The last landline I had was about 9 years ago when I needed one to let people in the front door of an apartment building. I doubt I'll ever have one again, but I can see where the guy with a few kids would want one instead of a huge cell phone bill.

Then I guess nobody has completely cut the landline, have they?

My "landline" is VOIP over coax cable, but I still consider it to be a landline.

Yes, all cell calls hit a landline at some point. But if I can start a phone call, drive for 3 hours and stay on that call, I don't consider it a "landline".

      got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out

      we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
