Todd S.
I don't know about the rest of the MN bass world, but this guy is super pumped for WI opener! I have that nostalgic feeling of when I was 12 planning our first fishing outing with my Dad. I'm ready for some bass thumb! Anybody else heading to cheeseville in 18 days? Todd S.
5 Days is right! Any thoughts out there as to your first spot? First cast? I always go to the same two lakes on the first Saturday out of tradition, infact I always fish the same spot with the same bait tied up for the first cast. I can't help but wonder if the fish will be in a diffrent phase of their spring pattern compared to last year though. My guess is the lakes could be behind last year by as many as 5 weeks given last years warmer March and this years lack of warmth! But then again they could be loaded up on this spot and it could be lights out!
Cecil
Never been to the lake before. Will have to see what the weather brings and mainly what the water temp is...
Nick Kuhn
I'll be out somewhere, probably trying jerkbaits or plastics worked fairly slowly. Last year fish were up shallow around bullrushes prepping for spawn. They'll be somewhere else entirely this year methinks.

Juan Grande
How much does a non-resident Wisco license cost?
Nick Kuhn
How much does a non-resident Wisco license cost? $50 for a year. Not sure about short-term licenses. Lot's of people do it though. This weekend there will be a ton of MN boats on those WI lakes, and I can tell you almost all of them will be after bass (I think the walleye guys just stop at the Croix). RiverFish
There are not any fish over here. Correct, we don't have any fish in WI due to the fact that we allow 3 lines in open water.
mww24
its 50 for the year. Or 10 for the day which can be applied at a later date to the year long or. Or 20 somthing for a 3 or 4 day license.
Craigums
Looks like it might rain a bit this weekend
Nick Kuhn
Probably a good thing that there will be overcast. With Spings higher water clarity and the fact that cover won't have grown in fully yet (except curly leaf pondweed, but I avoid that stuff like the plague), I think overcast will have the fish more active. As long as it's a light shower it won't bother me. Temperatures will be more than tolerable with some light rain gear.
IBFishin2
Given this colder weather, where do you guys think the bass are yet?
mww24
I'm guessing deep.
Nick Kuhn
Good luck out there this weekend guys. I'll be out there. As far as which lakes, maybe wherever the dart hits the map. Just look for a boat with 3 younger guys and an old man.
