Favre Investigation?

An unidentified masseuse who worked for the New York Jets says Vikings quarterback Brett Favre — currently being investigated by the NFL for sending lewd messages and photos to a female reporter — did the same to her in 2008. “He was looking at me like I was a hanging slab of meat,” the woman told the New York Post.

As for this being against the Wilf's code of conduct. This happened 2 years ago, it should be a non-issue. As he didn't do any of this while being employed by them. Sure it looks bad now, but it's a non-issue in my book.

The fact that we are hearing a 2 year old story from a media outlet, and not from a police department, should be the first indication that there is no problem here. If she isn't pressing harassment charges, then this is old business that would be best off forgotten.

Agreed, with the Jets on tap for tonight, the timing is suspect to say the least. Added to that is the fact that the girl doesn't want to get involved in this at all, and even deadspin.com didn't dispute that this might be a hoax as they bought the "information" from a 3rd party. That said, whether he is guilty or not doesn't necessarily negate the fact that he could be suspended. Look at Big Ben. By the letter of the law, he is innocent (no charges, no convictions), but Goodell decided that he tarnished the image of the NFL and he was consequently suspended 4 games (Ben was guilty as sin in my opinion). If Goodell feels Favre tarnished the NFL's image in the same way, we can expect a similar 4 game suspension. He (Goodell) has already shown that he will smack down his ruler on marquee players, too. Guilty or not, it is about appearance of guilt or misconduct, and this could bite us hard. Favre's consecutive games started streak is very much on the line at this point, and the distraction this will cause might very well be worse. I'm guessing Favre's home life just got a lot more complicated...

I can't tell for sure that it really happened. The evidence is pretty lame.

But even if he did, how is it any different from a large percentage of professional athletes across 4 sports? Okay aside from the cell images, which I will NOT be checking out.

It was two years ago, there has to be something better for this team to focus on. Like winning a game on the road against a quality opponent.

Maybe this whole ordeal is what Brett was referring to when he did his rendition of "Pants on the Ground".

We'll have to wait and see who the fool really is. The one who leaked this to the media if it's false or Brett.

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Details are continuing to trickle in about Brett Favre's speech during a Minnesota Vikings team meeting Monday morning. ESPN's Michele Tafoya just reported Favre began crying and was "very emotional" as he apologized to players and coaches for being a distraction over the past few days.

As you know by now, Deadspin.com has suggested that Favre sent racy text messages and photographs to a former New York Jets sideline reporter. It's an important story for several reasons, including the possibility that the NFL could fine or suspend him if it determines he violated its personal conduct policy.

Place-kicker Ryan Longwell told Tafoya that an obviously emotional Favre said to the team: "I need you guys to carry me tonight. I'm going to give it my all, but I'm just not sure what's going to happen."

Well that seals the deal. GUILTY!

I'd ask Leech to revise his power rankings but 32nd is as low as the list goes and they're already there.

Why not give TJack a shot, I'm assuming Brett retires at the end of our 6-10 season anyway. I think Brett thought, man that looked like my wife 22 years ago, when he wanted to hook up I mean meet her in private it was just casual clothes on hand holding right ?

Sounds like this is going no where. Favre is done with his part and no suspension has been pushed forward. Favre had his interview yesterday.

Something funny though, but spell Jenn's last name backwards. Should be a red flag for anyone. grin

Did you seriously believe that they were going to throw open the doors yesterday thirty seconds after the interview and yell "guilty" or "not guilty"? Come on.

This ain't over by a long shot. In fact, she has now hired legal council.

I suspect it's a case where she was paid a whole lot of money to keep silent and make the thing go away but now for whatever reason it's not going away like she was told it would so thus the lawyer being hired.
