A little H2o help please?

Question

I was wondering if anyone has a bad 12v power cord for a lowrance h20? It seems the end unscrewed from mine and is gone along with the fuse. I know these are notorious for going bad and thought someone might have a bad one laying around still? I'd pay some for it and shipping? I'd thought about emailing Lowrance but I'm sure that wouldn't get me anywhere besides "buy a new cable". Thanks.

It's little things like this that make me really appreciate companies who are willing to manufacture an item that doesn't use proprietary accessories and equipment. Just think if they would've designed it with a USB connector, like most automobile GPS devices.

Yep it broke, oh well I'm out 1.99

The DC power adapters for these units are exceptionally fragile IMHO. Mine fell off the dash of the truck and that's all she wrote. The wires in the cable broke.

Not impressed at all. Otherwise, I like the H20C.

My cell phone charger plug took a dump on me and I just cut the plug off of an old charger I had lying around and spliced the two wires together. Replaced the fuse with one for the same amperage. It's good to go.

You can also buy just the 12v adaptor plug in the automotive/electrical section at mallwarts.

of course if the problem is with the proprietary plug on the other end then you are screwed.

In this case, the plug steps the voltage down from 12V.

I knew I remembered something odd with the voltage on the lowrance cords, thanks for reminding me. I guess a new one is in my future, since they are worthless running on batteries. Thanks guys.
