Vendetta Rods

I was thinking about selling my Fenwick HMG that I use for all my jig/worm fishing and picking up one of those new Vendettas from Abu. Do you guys think that would be a good swap? Abu claims they factory tune them balance with their Revo reels so I was thinking it might be a pretty sweet set up with my Revo SX.

I really do like the HMG and will probably keep it. I was just wondering if the Vendetta would match up nicer with my Revo. A rod with a little more sensitivity would be nice too but I realize I will probably have to fork over more cash than I want to get this.

Skeet rods are junk......1/2 of them half crooked eyes, they are made by eagle claw, poor backbone, and heavy. I know a few guys who bought them this year and needless to say they dont have them anymore. I have fished with the HMG before and its a great rod for the money. In that 100 dollar range I would stick with the Shimano Compre, Fenwick HMG, Lamiglas Excel.

I have HMG's and bought a Vendetta over the winter. I wouldn't trade if I were you, while the Vendetta's are nice for the money, I don't think they hold a candle to the Fewicks.

Hey NTW,

Is the balance point on the Vendetta with a Revo really as great as they advertise it?

Does anyone else have any experience with Vendettas with Revos on them?

i do not own a vendetta but held one with a revo SX last weekend and i liked it. Personally i dont think its overly heavy although my carrot stix is noticably lighter, but im not to nit picky. If you are going to complain about a couple ounces i think i need to hit the weights personally. If i was in the market for a new rod i'd consider a vendetta for that price range i think i'd enjoy it. My gf father has the new yellow skeet reese rod and its ok, but i'd go with a vendetta over it hands down. As for fenwick i have never owned one of there bass rods, only a muskie rod (which i enjoy) so i cant compare a vendetta to that.

I am going to go to Joe's and get my hands on a Vendetta but I think I will hold off until September for the new Veritas. Those look like great rods for $100 and a good deal lighter than the Vendettas.

Not a bad idea. I have heard the veritas are definitely a step up from the vendettas. I think the vendetta is a good rod for the money, at least in the casting models. I bought a 7'6" MH for $50 on the big E for pitching and love it. It's hard to find a flippin stick with a lighter action these days. I would not consider it a heavy(weight wise) rod. It cost me 1/4 as much as most of my rods and I really like it so far...used it for 5 days of bass fishin on the river in late April/early May.

I do like the Fenwicks but I can't compare to the Vendettas. My only gripes with the Fenwicks (I own about 6) are the reel seats. They don't clamp down far enough to be able to really tighten them down hard. I wrapped tape around the reel but that hasn't helped a ton. Do they make a shim or something else to aid with this?

HMG is a much better rod. The Vendetta is one of the heaviest rods I have every felt

What? The Vendetta 7'3 Heavy I have feels as light and better ballanced with a revo than my 7ft Avids at a lot cheaper price. I havent fished a lot yet with Vendetta but for the money its a pretty good rod.

It depends on what rods you are used to fishing with I guess, if you only want to spend $75 then Im sure its a good rod. I played with a 7ft MH a few weeks ago and it was very tip heavy. Maybe your 7'3 is more evenly balanced.

If I get the Kistler should I get the version with the micro guides or not? I read the TT article on them and am not sure I would want to spend another 20 bucks for them. Anybody used them?

I have both a Kistler Mg and a Vendetta. The kistler is a great rod and a little lighter, but the power seems lighter than advertised. the vendettas power seem more in line with what im used to.
