zamboni
Favre had ankle surgery today and appears to be getting ready to play another year. Nevermind I seen it on yahoo. Well, I think that clinches it to be honest.
bassNspear
Favre had ankle surgery today and appears to be getting ready to play another year. goes to show he will be showing up a week before the first pre season game! No training camp for farve!
BrianLucky13
Hes played in that offense for pretty much 20 years. Why would he go to training camp?? Hes Brett Favre!!!
Scott K
Hes played in that offense for pretty much 20 years. Why would he go to training camp?? Hes Brett Favre!!! In order to work out the timing with his receivers, and the rest of the offense. Just because he may be able to catch on to his role, dont mean others will be able to catch up to speed with him. zepman
You force Favre to training camp and we play with TJack this year. He's not coming...nor should he have to.
sdpikehntr
Farve is a Endorsement King... He will play this out and be in the Media for the next 18 months, and him not at training camp just adds to the element. No matter what, he will jack up his receivers and have them in check by the 1st reg. season game. Wish my Grandpa could throw a pig skin like that. Do you practice fishing in a swimming pool????
Scott K
Nope, but I do practice casting sitting in the boat in the driveway. Realizing I more then likely will never catch a fish
PierBridge
Based on last year I think it's safe to say Favor can show up when he wants to!Go Vikes!
greebs
they will let him do what he wants. it's unfortunate, but that's just the way it its unless you start having jared allen and some of the other studs on the team start pulling the same [PoorWordUsage]. zepman
When Jared Allen is entering his 20th year in the league I sure hope he gets to take training camp off too.
Scott K
I dont think he needs to go there and lift weights and run laps, but to be there and be a part of the team. Run a few reps with the rookie receivers, take a few snaps from the 1 year snapper, do mock drills, ect. In other words, be a part of the team! Scott K
Even when I was in high school football, if you were injured, you had to be with the team, unless you were in the hospital.
zamboni
Based on last year I think it's safe to say Favor can show up when he wants to!Go Vikes! Pier, some of your posts are brilliant, and some are plain jibber-jabber. You hit the nail on the head with this one. If, say they missed the playoffs, like the Pukers, he should be required to show up. To me, he had one bad game last season, and that was the Bears game, and it was only the first half of that game. Second half he looked money, but it was too late to come back and IMO that game cost us home field throughout and a trip to the Super Bowl. Brett can do whatever he wants
zepman
Even when I was in high school football, if you were injured, you had to be with the team, unless you were in the hospital. This is NOT high school football we're talking here.
eyehunter
I agree with PierBridge also. After the year he had last year, I would say that he can do whatever he wants to do just as long as he comes back, that's why the coaches aren't pushing the issue. I kind of hope that he doesn't come to training camp because I will be taking the yearly family trek to FanKato again and it would be a zoo down there if he were to show up . Scott K
I still think, regardless if he even participates in drills, he needs to be there. He is getting paid $14 million dollars, and that is pay to be at training camp as well. Even if it is to help coach the Qb's and guide the receivers, Favre doesnt need the practice, but other players do, and in order to practice correctly you need the whole team there. BrianLucky13
didnt favre say if mississipi makes it to the college world series or something he would come back???? Yes he said that!!I think if the Vikings were smart they wouldnt play Favre tell about the 8th game. 41 years old is getting pretty old even for the legend. I still think he has a solid 4 years left though.
tsande00
Southern Miss Conference Playoffs start tomorrow night vs. Memphis. (Whom by the way they just took 3 of 4 from)
greebs
didnt favre say if mississipi makes it to the college world series or something he would come back???? but he gave himself a safety net by not saying that he wouldn't come back if they don't make it. the surgery pretty much guarantees he plans to play. doubt he'd need it to drive a tractor.
