Big Ben

Documents released by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation contain yet another "unsubstantiated allegation" that Ben Roethlisberger made an "unwanted advance" to a separate Milledgeville-area woman.

A drunken Roethlisberger allegedly pulled down his pants and told the young woman she could do "whatever she wants." The next week Roethlisberger allegedly forced his hand up the same woman's skirt at a party. While the key word here is "unsubstantiated," it fits the previous pattern of behavior. Roethlisberger could be looking at a 4-8 game suspension after the impact of the police documents.

How much more is the NFL going to allow this thug to play football? I would hope he gets a minimum of 8 game suspension, then have a very shot leash, as in NO night club or drinking, along with stay out of the court system. I say make him an example, that football will not allow behavior like this from their players! If he doesnt get a good long suspension, it will be sad!

I know I have been hearing about this all week on the radio. I avoided posting it in here because I know BBR is Dark Clouds Idol. laugh

All charges are being dismissed (I believe lack of evidence), but the NFL is taking some sort of action in defamation of character/code of conduct thing written in his contract. Guesses are about a 2 game suspension.

Oh, sorry DC grin but the local beef jerky main brand ceased all production on the Big Ben meat stick and jerky packs because of this. grin

The Associated Press

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh company that markets food products endorsed by local sports stars has ended its beef jerky sponsorship deal with Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. PLB Sports president Ty Ballou says Roethlisberger is "falling short" of the company's standards after a Georgia prosecutor announced Monday he will not prosecute the quarterback over sexual assault allegations.

The company said in a statement on Tuesday that facts presented at the prosecutor's news conference led to the decision.

The company sold "Big Ben's Beef Jerky" in bags depicting the quarterback at Pittsburgh area Giant Eagle supermarkets and GetGo convenience stores.

The same company markets a breakfast cereal endorsed by Steelers receiver Hines Ward and Pittsburgh Penguins forward Max Talbot.

what a total moron!!! has anyone else noticed how chunky he is getting?? the dude is a pretty decent qb but what is he thinking??? too bed they don't have enough physical evidence to put this abuser behind bars.....1 accusation you kinda think he didn't do nothing but after two accusations he becomes pretty guilty looking in both cases!!!!

Oh and nice appology......other than showing the ability to read a script he proved nothing with that statement....

Hello James and FG and the rest of the FM sports nation, I am back from hibernation, actually I got a new job and sadly dont have enough time to keep your guys facts in line!! wink

On a serious note, here it is. You all know TJ and me go way back, but when do the Vikings have more of a chance to lock up a proven franchise QB for the next ten years???

Trade our 1st, Sage and if so any other pick that it needs to get it done. This should not even be a question. Big Ben can be fixed and he will be, has Jared been picked up lately? Nope, did everyone forget that the number 1 sports figure in the world just went through this but with 30 girls instead of 1. Is the media world still dragging him through the world?????? Nope.....

Favre can stay home in his wranglers and pick his teeth.

i heard they are looking for a top 10 first round pick for him straight up. but he will have a 4-6 game suspension. i say we give him our 1st and 3rd and thrown in tjack just to get rid of him.

he gave the steelers 2 superbowls in 5 years, boot him out of town for a non charge alleged rape....nice. not guilty in the legal system, no charges, but get punished still. goodell makes his own law.

best backup in the nfl is billy volek from the chargers. yeah i would ship tjoke out in a second...and i doubt he would be going after anyones daughters or wifes. did jared allen go out drinking and driving and crash cars after he got busted and traded too us? that seemed to work out ok for us.

Ok, Ok, heres my take... While he clearly put himself in bad/stupid situations. Nothing has been proven! I know from personal experience that the theory of innocent till proven guilty is no longer alive in this country.

I learned a long time ago - believe everything you see, about 10% of what you hear, and nothing that you read...

Not trying to defend Ben as I could really care less but Goodell is a tool! How does Vick get the same 6 game suspension for being CONVICTED? Sure Vick got jail time(because he was found guilty) but he also only served 2 games of his suspension...

Im not sure what Pitt is going to do. They have a history of cleaning out garbage. Guess it depends on how the Rooneys feel about him...

Well the way it looks is that Goodell isnt the only one in the NFL that thinks Big Ben is a thug, since there werent any decent offers to trade for him! He will end up staying with the Steelers, unless he manages to get in the media another time this offseason. I am sure any media will be just waiting to take some pictures of him in a night club somewhere, and I think that would be the last straw for the Steelers.

I'd take him for a trade of the 34th pick (Clausen) and whatever else it would take to get the deal done. He's a moron but hopefully has learned his lesson this time around. He could lead this team for the next decade and would make the Vikings play-off contenders every year he'd be in Purple.

Guilty in the eyes of the NFL, but not in the eyes of the law. How is that legit? In any case, Chilly took a huge leap (by his high character seeking standards) taking on Harvin (dang glad he did), but I don't think he would move on Ben in the wake of this media fiasco.

So you guys want him here, raping and whipping out him member to your wife/daughter? No thanks, let the bum stay out east!

Looks like your already the judge and the jury??? I GUARANTEE that every NFL team including the Queens have bigger scumbags than Ben on thier team!!!

I live closer to Phily than Pitt, should I keep a better eye on my dog or girlfriend? Reality check grin

Has there been any official word from Pitt that they were shopping Ben? Didnt think so, maybe I missed it. The guy has two rings and is a proven winner with a good head on his shoulders (on the field). They could get rid of him in a heartbeat...

He has a contract and when you put yourself in situations like this:

ben-roethlisberger-drunk-2.jpg

The NFL feels the code of conduct portion of the contract needs to be upheld. wink

It has nothing to with Micheal Vick, Rodney King, or who ever. What is done is done and that is that. grin

Ben likes to party at college bars. If he came here to Minnesota just keep your wives and daughters out of the college bar scene. wink You will have no problems then. grin There is enough people down on Block "E" or Dinkytown that will do worse than Ben has anyways. smirk

There has been all kinds of word of them trading him, on all of the gossip sites grin

They may be able to get rid of him, but I dont think to many teams wanted to gamble a top first round pick, which was the Steelers asking price, maybe for a 3rd round, any team would place the gamble.

I know it is just word, but 4WE is right. It seems to be a strong word that Pitt would like to part ways before Ben does go to jail or worse. I can not blame them looking out for their best interests. You can be the #1 best NFL QB all you want, but if you are serving 90-200 days or a couple years behind bars, even under work release, training camp and game day could be a hit or miss. wink Especially with a trend starting to show its self.

I could care less what the guy does at 2:00am on the bar scene, but I under stand what Pitt. would be feeling from a business stand point. Cut your losses while there is some cutting to be had. wink Unless Ben enrolls in the rehab center Tiger did and goes through the 12 steps of addiction? Maybe that will change things?

Shack - Nice picture, but as we all know that is so easy to creat with photoshop. cool

And untill I see Art Rooney Jr. on tv talking about Bens gone, we have nothing but gosip.

It wouldt surprise me one bit if they did let him go. They have a strong history of removing trouble before it happens or as soon as it does. Wouldnt bother me if they did, defense wins champoinships(and not wearing purple jerseys) whistle
