Twin Predictions

So.... what's your predictions for wins and place?

I'm guessing 89 wins and squeaking out another division championship. I'd like to say low 90's for wins, but I think the loss of Nathan will cost a few "should haves" the first couple of months.

Playing outdoors is going to hurt them, no established closer, the ball probably won't carry as well so fewer homeruns by some players who hit them last year will now just be long fly ball outs. The home field advantage won't be as great.

86-76 5 games back.

I'm going with an even 90 win season and another division title. Hoping somehow we don't end up playing the pinstripes in the first round of the playoffs, so maybe we can get a playoff series win under our belts.

I would agree that losing Nathan is big, but I would guess we blow no more than 4 or 5 extra games because of that. The improved team on the field and extra long ball oomph more than makes up for it.

I'm liking the early trip to Anaheim also. We always seem to struggle there, so let's get it out of the way and secure at least a split.

I think it comes down to how the Twins do at the new home. I will not expect a 48-52 win season at home like at the dome,, but I do think they will do better on the road from playing outdoors at home. nathan will cost them 5-7 saves and 4-6 wins with losses in extra innings. However, Thome will beat the SOX 1-2 times by himself and with added power, will about equal things out.

Twins win the DIV by 3 games with 90 wins.

White SOX (starting pitching is not as good as it looks and lineup is avg at best.)

Tigers. (lineup is getting old (especially middle of the lineup) and the grandy replacement in CF and leadoff hitter will be one to watch.) Better pitching than most think.

Clev- will be better than the national pundits give credit. Carmona will have good/great year.

KC-- will likely be in the mix at the AS break,, only to crash and burn without the farm in the last half. Pitching outside the middle relief is decent to good,, depending on what side of the bed Grenkie wakes up on and Meche has been picked up on for 3 years in the Central and is starting to give up many more crooked numbers early in the game.

I don't think the AL EAst or West is as good as people say, and the Wild Card may come outta the Central this year, to the dismay of ESPN.

We will score more runs with this line-up than last year, you can mark that one down in the books. And until Rauch shows me any indication that he will not continue dominating the ninth, I have no closer worries. 94-68, Division Champs, and a deep, deep run. Bank it!
