50 cal BMG? After last year bow hunting I think I need to get rid of a few thousand squirles!!!! My favorite is a .22 cheap light but 410 in my book is costly and a bit loud but you get a good coverage!

It is hard to beat the satisfying !!!BOOOMMM!!! of a .410 bidding a red squirell or a chipmunk a final "how are you doing". It is a little bit of over-kill, but it never misses there is a bit of "Take that you anoying little......"

But for cost, noise, and ease factor a .177 multi pump bb-gun works good to. Just have to remember those little steel bb's bounce off of hard thinks like retaining walls, rock gardens, and patio furniture, and always seam to find a vehical or window in the end.

I prefer lead, a small cloud of it... wink

I would say get your self a bolt action in 22LR topped with a good 2.5-7 power scope. If you are in the country you can use stingers or the like and when in you need to be quiet, 22 long cb's are just the ticket.

depends on your condition of in town or out of town or what else you could shoot. In the country a .22 would seem the most economical as you could shoot red squirrel to coons and any other varmints plus like others have said a hundo for a gun and five bucks for some ammo your set. wink
