Big Dave2
The all-time king of overrated drivers is Michael Waltrip.

bottom-bouncer
Over hyped: Logano by a mile. I think you have to give a kid more than a year to prove himseelf.
LMITOUT
Nope, he was over hyped as the next greatest thing since sliced bread.....remember? He looked more like a fish out of water. He should have spent at least a year in the Nationwide Series before going to Cup.It's pretty comical to hear the apologists this year saying "oh, he learned a lot in that first year and should do better this year" when last year they practically had him pegged for a half a dozen wins and contending for the title before they dropped the flag at Daytona last February. LMITOUT
The all-time king of overrated drivers is Michael Waltrip. I don't think anybody has thought MW as overrated. Over exposed maybe. He's always mugging for a camera somewhere and basically made his career as a salesmen and not a driver.
gregg52
i agree with you on the salesmen part he even sold the ole man on giving him a ride ...lolya they hype any thing they can get a story outa but thats not the kids faultits pretty tuff i dont care who you are to step in and think your going to beat the the 48's 14's 24's on a regular basis you might luck out and win a race

PierBridge
I would like to see what Montoya could do with a top of the line team like Hendrick or Gibbs. That would be ridiculous. Like him or not he's by far the most underrated driver out there. He made the chase driving junk and was in the chase for bit with-out having much to work with over-all. harvey lee
Yes, Juan would be awesome in better equipment.Juan is very underrated.

Junk???Didn't his teammate just win Daytona? Then didn't his teammate get the pole the next week at California? Isn't Mc Murry driving the same equipment? &JAG
His equipment is a ways behind Hendrick, Roush, Gibbs and Childress. I would even go as far to say MWR equipment is probley on par with EGR's stuff. Give him any of the top teams set-up and he would be as good as the #24, #48, #14 etc. The EGR cars have speed and all but, the total package (aero, suspension, tunnel time, team etc.) is not in the same league at all! They can run well at plate tracks and qualifying any week but, after that how do they perform if they are in the pack? I guess time will tell... I hope JPM leaves his buddy Chip some day and goes for the glory!!
Double D
Nobody has put Danica Patrick on this list? With the coverage she gets I thought she had won her first 3 Cup races.DD
