we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 30, 2010 we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 30, 2010 Here is the report "The NFL announced Friday, Jan. 29, that a penalty should have been called on the New Orleans Saints for a high-low hit on Minnesota Vikings QB Brett Favre in the third quarter of the NFC Championship Game. The play resulted in an interception for the Saints." Maybe an uncatchable ball pass interference call at the end of the game had a larger effect
PierBridge
And even a LARGER effect woulda been 8 combined fumbles/interceptions.FYI 2 Viking linemen were holding or actually tackling Saints players on said play!Go T-Jack!
BlueLundFishrman
The Vikings NFC Champion T-Shirts are being sent to Haiti, among other places.
BlueLundFishrman
What about that flag for the 12th man? Or what about the failure of the Vikings to challenge the touchdown where Thomas was down short of the goalline. Hold them to a FG there, instead of a TD, would that have made a difference?Anyway you look at it. The Saints outscored the Vikings, they win the NFC. Dave S
I was wondering about the Hi-Low on Favre. Especially taking Favre out below the knee. I was thinking that was in the 4th qtr though. If Jared Allen gets fined for a hit like that, why was this hit a "No-Call". Now that I think about it, Farve was also fined for a similar hit early in the year when he threw a block.
zamboni
Or what about the failure of the Vikings to challenge the touchdown where Thomas was down short of the goalline. Hold them to a FG there, instead of a TD, would that have made a difference? That was Bush that wrapped the ball around the pilon. There was a play involving Thomas we got hosed on though- in OT on 4th down, he did NOT make the first down. They showed that about 20 times and that ball never crossed the first down mark. It was ever further away when Greenway knocked the ball back about a yard.
SneakAttack
Is there a penalty for pumping crowd noise over the loud speakers when the queens had the ball? ( Someone on fan line actually thought that )Of course that doesnt beat the " The Giants stole our playbook " from 2001.

There was a touchdown called when the player (I don't know if it was Thomas) was down a yard shy of the goal line and he reached in after his knee touched. Chilly is always wathing for the replay. I couldn't believe he didn't challenge the call.

harvey lee
Yes, the bad call did or may have cost the Vikes some points. So did all the fumbles and interceptions. The refs were not the best nor were the Vikes at times.Just another fine example of the refs changing the points of a game. A friend of mine knows a book and he says this happens all the time.Sorry, its fixed.
BlueLundFishrman
Fixed? Doubtful. Sounds like another bad excuse for losing.

BlueLundFishrman
With the core of players the Vikings have it should be easy to lure a QB better than Tarvaris into Minnesota, should Farve decide to retire again.

we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 30, 2010 Author we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 30, 2010 LOL, What a joke. You think Buck is a football expert now??? That game was classic WWE. Entertainment at it's finest. Reminded me of the Seattle-Pittsburgh Superbowl where Seattle WAS the better team and they were ripped-off by the NFL powers that be. BlueLundFishrman
So when the better team doesn't win, it's a fixed game now? What next, the high school sports is fixed too, if the better team loses?Manning vs Farve would have been a more sensational game than the Colts vs Saints. Sounds like a bunch of crybabies too me. Oh well, drink some more purple kool-aid and get ready for next year. It's fixed right, so who's the SB teams next year, isn't it already scripted? Should be easy to bank a good retirement by putting your money down on those teams now. It's a sure thing if you buy into some of your guys' sensationalization. If you're the better team, you better play good enough to not have to depend on the officials call to win you the game. we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Rick Posted January 30, 2010 Author we are 'the leading edge' HSO Creators Share Posted January 30, 2010 Or to depend on them to not make calls that cost the game You are correct. The Vikes could have taken it out of the refs hands... the refs sure made it difficult though when they allowed Favre to get hammered that way on a play that would have put us on the Saints 19 yard line, 1st and ten, instead of the Saints having it. There is a ref assigned to watch the QB. Maybe it affected his decision on whether to pass or run on that gimpy leg on his last play??? Ya Think??? All in all the Vikes did cost themselves the game. But so did the WWE refs the NFL has.
SDPROV
Blue so now you say the better team didn't win!!! Now wait a minute last week you said the better team won! I am confused(although that happens easily)!

BlueLundFishrman
Saints are the better team, Vikings have the better players.Even with a 1st & 10 at the Saints 19, they would have had to put T-Jack in for some plays, advantage New Orleans.I don't buy the fixing theory. Just a lame excuse.
