Trading AP

The fumble AP lost could have & should have got us at least a FG. Sure, it was the only one he lost, but like was said, if he gives up the ball multiple times in a game he's as much an asset as a liability.

I understand what AP brings to the field, he's an amazing talent, but at what cost? He fumbled the ball 3 times and got EXTREMELY lucky twice that they didn't get recovered by the Saints.

FWIW, aside from all of the turnovers, the game was lost with the disaster in the huddle with the 12th man, and a poor decision by a beaten, battered QB. He should have just run it!

Trade AD?? What are you guys high!!!

Why is it we Minnesotans just have to trade away everybody that is any good. The KG trade is working out real well ain't it?? How about that Randy Moss deal, didn't he just set some kind of record or something.

Yea he had a couple fumbles but he also ran for over a hundred yards and scored 3 touchdowns.

Please send me some of that stuff you're smoking.....

Say we trade AP. Say we trade AP for fumbling on the big stage or we get rid of favre for throwing picks on the big stage... You get rid of either of these guys, the Vikes won't see another big stage for YEARS to come.

Any Vikes fan who is pro-trading AP needs to get their head examined. You are the same people who ran Randy Moss out of town. All he did after leaving the Vikings was set the single season TD record. But at least we didn't have to deal with his baggage!

You keep good players. Since AP is better than good, this SHOULD BE a no-brainer.

JB MasterAngler...

Agreed, Moss wouldn't have caught 23 TDs in a single season from Daunte, Ferrotte, TJack, etc (maybe w/ Favre though lol). However, the point I was trying to make is that the Vikes dumped one of the best WR's of all time in the prime of his career... Why would we even entertain the idea of doing the same with one of the best RB's of all time?

Anyone who thinks APs fumbles cause him to be more of a liability than an asset, clearly don't understand the game of football.

Trading AP because of his fumbling woes is probably extreme. Though if I'm the GM, I am looking at every scenario for opportunities. But if you can't see the impact of his turnovers, then I think you're a little blind to how serious the problem really is.

It's far too easy to place blame after a season is over. But still the fumble in OT in Chicago AND the fumbles in New Orleans were season changers for the Vikings. If we protected the ball in either of those instances we would be in the Superbowl right now. Go ahead and argue if you want.

Correcting this problem should be our number one priority this off season. Anyone can see he is an absolutely electrifying player. He is the star of the team and he wants to be the star of the team. But if we can't trust him late in the game, I think that's clearly the sign of a problem. Team improvements have to be made next year with our schedule, or we won't get anywhere near the Superbowl.

Not saying moss didn't have a few good years left in him, because he did, but I think the fact he set the receiving record is more a product of tom brady and that style of offense.

look at what he did in oakland. that's the randy that the vikes had to choose if they wanted to keep or not. put him in the right situation he's dangerous and put him in a situation he doesn't like and he simply quits.

AP ain't that kind of player. he plays hard all the time; sometimes too hard and out of control. He's kind of like a nick punto except AP actually has a lot of talent. He tends to get in trouble when he tries to make a big play out of something that isn't there.
