I will have to try the plastic beer cup, that sounds awesome. I typed in ice fishing prank on youtube and there is one in 3 parts that is pretty good and one where you hide a wreless battery operated door bell in your neighbors house and you randomly push the button throughout a long weekend. I will use this one sometime not sure when though. I am sure it would work in things like hotel rooms as well

I bought these "Richard" jigs from the novelty section from a HSOforum called "jammin jigs". Google it. Stashed them in my bro-in-laws tackle box, waited a week, then asked him to borrow the biggest jig he had in his box. He looked for a while and said, "Oh I have got these ji... WHAT THE @)#@ IS THAT!" Pretty funny. They have moved along to several other "victims" since then.

If your buddy isn't an experienced ice fisherman try this. I won't take credit for it, i read it on another thread some time back, but it's about the funniest trick I have ever heard:

when the ice cracks, yell "OH MY GOD, everyone get down and lie flat"

HILARIOUS!

Haha, oh wow those "Richard" jigs are a little out there...that would be a good joke to play though.

I was fishing with a guy last year that wasn't too experienced on the ice and he got really scared when the ice cracked, wish I would've been clever enough to yell something like get down.

The best one I heard of I read on here a few years back where a guy was sleeping and they rigged a pry bar under a hole and put a chair on top of it so when they sat on the chair that corner of the house moved up and down. Then they filled the buckets with water and ice. The one guy starts bobbing up and down on the chair, shaking the house and the guys outside were pouring the water on the door and yelling "Get out of the house, it's going down!". Apparently the guy who was sleeping woke up, bolted out the door, and fell on his arse. That sounded like a good one.

Best one I seen was at the Brainerd Ice fishing Extravaganza when we were standing in line for the biffs. A group of guys set up next to the biffs were yelling for thier buddy, who in one of the biffs, because his bobber was under the ice. Guy comes blasting out of the biff, overalls half on and stumbles over to his rod, sets the hook, pulls up a beer can on the end of his line. Everyone is laughing, so he takes off running to the weigh in station with a beer can hanging from his line. I was almost on the ground laughing at that one.

Just though of this one, but might work. Attach a strong magnet to a weight of some kind. Place that object on the lake floor directly under someones hole. When they drop their jig down to the ground, or close to it...the magnet will likely grab the jig, making them think it is a fish. They will set the hook on it, drop it down again, and repeat!! i bet you could get someone to fall for that one all day long! I have the perfect magnet, but would need to figure out a way to get it off the bottom of the lake when i'm done playing with them.

Whenever you take a new person out on Mille Lacs we always tell them all the horrer stories(fake) about all the people going through the ice, so eventually the new guy starts to second guess even going out. Then when we get to the resort, before we go in to the bar to get the road pass we convince the new guy to wear a life jacket, then everyone goes in, when he realizes he's the only one with a lifejacket on and everyone is looking at them funny, this moment is priceless.

I brought my brother in law out to the shack on mille lacs... We were pretty "lit up" by about 1 am, I seen the neighboring house lights were on so I told my brother lets walk over and visit... I met the neighbors a few times before, they were a couple of 80yr old party animals (I miss those guys)....

On the walk over my brother in law dropped his case of beer and cans went everywhere, I kept going and yelled "meet ya over there".. I went in the shack and told the 2 old gents to pretend like they were beating me up when my brother opened the door...

When he opened the door one guy had me in the headlock and the other was giving me fake blows to the midsection, my brother back pedaled so fast and needless to say he had to pick up his beer again... priceless

When I was about 4 or 5 my brother in-law tried to convince me to eat a crappie minnow. He'd cup a minnow and drop it down his sleeve as he moved his hand up to his mouth. He was pretty slick, I never saw it or suspected a thing.

I remember holding a minnow a minnow in my hand, feeling it squirming in my fingers as I clutched it and looking up at him, on the verge of popping it in. I was miserable. I did not want to eat a minnow but there was no way I was going to back down after watching him "eat" three of them.

Luckily for me he couldn't keep his face straight quite long enough and figured out it was a trick.

when fishing some deep water and a buddy goes outside, put a depth bomb on his line below the bobber and right as he's opening the door drop it down, when the depth bomb is on its way down the bobber looks like a fish in playing with it and once it hits the jig the bobber just shoots down the hole. It looks pretty real, happened to me once.

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
