flasher interference

Have fished 2 vex's in the same house too long-sick of the interference. Plan on keeping one vex and going to either a marcum or bird. Now I see a post where a guy is sick of interference between vex and marcum. Will this be an issue with any flasher combo?

fished a vex and a marcum on LOW last week. very minor interference, only had to push the IFR button once to take care of it. Make sure transducer is not way below the ice you can get a secondary echo off of the ice itself. other than that not sure what the problem may be.

As long as you are the guy with the bigger flasher (LX5) you have nothing to worry about. I can fish next to anyone and not have a problem with mine. I've fished side by side other marcums and we can dial them in and have no interference. As for the guy that shows up with the FL-8, sorry buddy...I can clear my screen sorry about yours.

From what I have heard the birds will not cause a problem for vexs or marcums since they are on a different frequency then those are. now 2 birds together will cause a problem with each other but like vexs or marcum this can be fixed with the interference rejection feature on the units.

this is my understanding also. another thing i like about having my bird is no one else has them! never have to worry interference, even tho it has 10 IR levels.

Ran 2 vex's tonight with no problems.........3 feet apart.

We ran a micro-nar and an fl-8se 3' apart. when i would hit the ir on mine it would mess up the micronar. we tried everything we could but in the end one of us had to live with it.

You can easily eliminate that...first off ONLY the Vex experiencing the interference issues needs to be adjusted...don't cycle both units IR function at the same time.

Simply tap the IR on the Vexilar unit that is experiencing the cross talk interference tell it disappears...and your good.

Do not confuse "Suspended Particulate Clutter" with "Cross Talk Interference"..they are two separate display issues and are managed in different ways and managed separately.

When experiencing true Cross Talk Interference you will see counter rotating lines that cycle around counterclockwise on the display dial.

When experiencing "Particulate Clutter" you will see weak targets such as bugs or other suspended clutter particles the Vexilar picks up as targets and can be managed with the LP Mode or S-Cable and the Gain adjustment.

Particulate clutter is indeed true sonar targets, and only can be addressed and managed by calibrating the Gain Adjustment in unison with the aid of the LP Mode, or with the addition the addition of a S-Cable on units not equipped with the LP Function.

I hope this is helpful to you.
