So i went to buy a new flasher today. i decided i was comin outta that door with either a fl-20, an lx-5, or a new bird. i played with the new bird and the fl-20 but when i went to play with the lx-5, there wasnt one there...Sold Out! So i called another store cross town, again, Sold Out! Called another store, the guy said he hasnt had anybody ask for a marcum. Said they all want a vex or a bird. He said the ice 55 has 1/2" target separation, he was wrong i did my research. then he said he would knock off $50. i said, Have a Nice Day...

So anyone know where i could find an Lx-5? I really want one Now. cheapest i could find was $416 online. I'd rather take a drive and pick 1 up. Any info i would greatly appreciate it...

It seems that they are now making one generic case in only one color. I just bought a LX3tc for my son and it is the same color case as my 2 year old LX5 minus the LX5 embroidery. I was kind of bummed out. I wanted the old LX3tc grey color case.

does anyone else get horrible battery life with their lx5, it seems like mine drains the brand new 9ah battery i put in it to start the season. today i went out it said 100% four hours later it was already at 20%, two hours later it said zero and then things get a little whacky and start moving around, change the battery and it's all better again, but i shouldent have to change the battery at all, if any one has this problem or knows about it please post, i'll check back. I love this thing it smokes my old vex, but so far the vex kickes it's butt in battery life.

For days? Seriously?

How many hours do you have the flasher turned on each day?

5-10 hours a day. I never take a charger with on weekend trips. I hope this helps. I can fish 3 days. I've also forgot to turn it off before and used it the next day. How many hours a day do you use your flasher?

Some batteries are just [PoorWordUsage] from day one it seems . I have a vexilar 9 ah that has never been up to its assumed extra potential then my 7ah that I originally got with my Marcum . Actually I'm still running my original 7ah that I got with my first LX-3 . It's starting to show signs of wear down but it still beats the 9ah I keep for a backup . I know a p1ssoff it is .

I used to get 18 hrs solid out of a battery but now it might be close to 12 on a good day . Usually I'm changing them out before but I also fish outside alot with the unit sitting directly on the ice . You can always tell when they are fighting to keep up because your having to increase your gain more and more .

I bought a LX-5 a few weeks ago...charged it up and took it out. I was on the ice for 3-4 and it was down to 20 percent. I was very disappointed in the battery life. I also have an Lx-3 and the battery life is much, much better. I bought a new battery for the 5 but have not had a chance to use it yet. I am interested in finding out if the 5 just eats batteries or if the original battery was just bad.

Last year at the start of the season I put new 9ah batteries in my 2000w lx5's. A 9 hour day brings them both down to 40% (while running.)

You're best check is to measure the current draw using a DMM. You'd need to be pulling juice that is way outside spec to burn through a GOOD battery that fast.

I have never had a problem with my batteries. I have a extra one but don't ever recall using it because one died. I do disconnect my batteries from the flasher when I am not using it and also during the summer. I think that makes a big difference on the life of my batteries.

My LX-5 2500 watt model draws 390 milliamps. A 9 amp-hour battery should run this for 23 hours. Even if it doesn't last to the rated 9 amp-hours, it should go 2 long days of fishing easily, or 3-4 shorter days.

What is the minimum voltage required to run the Lx-5? Did you factor that into you calculations on longevity of use on a 9 amp battery? Is the battery life meter on the Lx-5 calibrated to reflect the true minimum voltage required as 0, or will it shut down at another % value on the meter?

Thanks,

    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
    • I haven’t done any leaf springs for a long time and I can’t completely see the connections in your pics BUT I I’d be rounding up: PB Blaster, torch, 3 lb hammer, chisel, cut off tool, breaker bar, Jack stands or blocks.   This kind of stuff usually isn’t the easiest.   I would think you would be able to get at what you need by keeping the house up with Jack stands and getting the pressure off that suspension, then attack the hardware.  But again, I don’t feel like I can see everything going on there.
    • reviving an old thread due to running into the same issue with the same year of house. not expecting anything from yetti and I already have replacement parts ordered and on the way.   I am looking for some input or feedback on how to replace the leaf springs themselves.    If I jack the house up and remove the tire, is it possible to pivot the axel assembly low enough to get to the other end of the leaf spring and remove that one bolt?   Or do I have to remove the entire pivot arm to get to it? Then I also have to factor in brake wire as well then. What a mess   My house is currently an hour away from my home at a relatives, going to go back up and look it over again and try to figure out a game plan.           Above pic is with house lowered on ice, the other end of that leaf is what I need to get to.   above pic is side that middle bolt broke and bottom 2 leafs fell out here is other side that didnt break but you can see bottom half of leaf already did but atleast bolt is still in there here is hub assembly in my garage with house lowered and tires off when I put new tires on it a couple months ago. hopefully I can raise house high enough that it can drop down far enough and not snap brake cable there so I can get to that other end of the leaf spring.
