wmn luv me walleye fearme
ok this is going to sound like a stupid question and it probably is but is there any way to make a frozen pizza using a 2 burner cook top in a ice house? Have a house that myself and my buddy built. Oven was never an option due to space. Have a 2 burner cook top and was trying to figure out if there is anyway to maybe make a small steel/aluminum box with a shelf that you could put over the burner, deflect the heat and make a frozen pizza in it. (pizza oven not an option either as uses way to much juice for my 100 dollar menards generator). Might be posted on the wrong forum but thought I would ask. Thanks
Harmonica Bear
I would guess a big cast iron skillet with a cover would do it. Cook it slow and low, or add a wire rack of some sort to set the pizza on to prevent burning crust.
deerminator
You could grill the pizza too if you have a little Weber kettle. They do sell small camping ovens that are basically metal boxes that sit on top of the two burner camp stoves. Do a search on one of the big sporting goods store sites. I would grill it though and keep the grill in your fish house when you're not there.
Surface Tension
Get yourself a Coleman oven. It sits on top a two burner stove and works slick. Pizza, pot pies, buffalo wings, whatever!
wmn luv me walleye fearme
just saw that on one of the websites. Didnt even know they sold stuff like that until someone mentioned it above. (basically thats pretty much what I was thinking of trying to making) Cheaper just to buy that one i saw then to try and make it. Just wish it was a little wider then 12 inches but that should work. (also like the grill idea as well and just tossing that in the fish house) thanks
Surface Tension
I hear you on the size rack. You just have to find smaller frozen pizzas. I think Romas fit in there. They only come with one rack so I made another rack out of a cooling rack.
Big Dave2
The oven would be nice but it just takes up space in your shack. If you already have a small grill I would just use that as it will be much more versatile.

Phred52
Grilled pizzas are EXCELLENT!! I attended a company ice fishing contest 2 years ago, For that, I made 3-18" 'scratch' pizzas on the grill for my guests and some other co-workers that were set up close by. Final tally was 4 slices left when lunch was done! That introduced many of them to grilled pizza that they've now started making that way at home. They still comment how good they were. Farley
My uncle and I were out fishing one night after a few rounds at the local Muni, we bought a frozen pizza to bring back to the fish house. We thought about it for a while and tried a few things but what worked best was to slice it up first and cook each slice by scraping off the cheese and toppings and cooking that seperate from the crust. That way you kept the crust from burning and the cheese and meat were melted and warm when the crust was cooked through. Kind of messy but it was a 2:00 a.m. thing, not our finest hour but we got it done.

wmn luv me walleye fearme
the only time i've grilled pizza is on my egg with the heat deflector on it so the crust doesnt burn. If your cooking it on a regular grill do you just try and have the coals barely going?
JollyT
You could always build a cardboard box oven. I used to use one in scouts. You can bake anything in them. Cookies and biscuits, or brownies, not just pizza. Just google 'Cardboard Box Oven" and you'll find out how to make one.
Bass Whacker
If your using a grill use some tin foil and keep the heat down.
bonefish
Skip the frozen pizza and just make your own personal pizzas. We use greek flatbreads/pitas (Bags of these are found in bakery section of grocery store)as the crust, then bring along a jar of sauce and a few baggies of toppings for each person to desig their own. Throw them on the grill for a few minutes and you are ready to go. Unless you want to pre-cook your sausage or hamburger, stick with pepperoni or ham since the Meat gets warmed, but not cooked. We've even made mexican pizzas by layering tortillas, refried beans, sour cream and black olives. Yum!
