We had a nice day yesterday, slayed about 35 apiece plus let a bunch go. Had to cut alot of holes and do the shuffle. One here and one there, nothing for 4 holes then you'd rip 3-5 out of a hole. Got to do a little sight fishing which is always fun with quality fish. Every day is diff but the fish definatly semed to prefer verticle hanging jigs vs horizontal cool

Busted out the fly reel for the shallow water. Caught a few nice bass on it also...

Guys Kyle and I took a ride up to Lake of the Isles and Donny and Todd went to Black Lake.

We found a ton of small gills and a few perch and Kyle caught a small largemouth. Lots of people out and I can understand why only 4" of easy walking mush slush so walking was alot easier as we left as the traps stayed on top as we walked. Had a blast, saw some great scenerie and caught some fish. All and all a good day. Here is the pics of the trip..

You couldn't ask for a nicer day to fish it was beautiful out.

As you can see plenty of ice. Stay to the right going off the launch if you go up.

Kyle thank Jackie for the appetizers at the homestead and the home brew was awesome.

Sure is nice to see some tolerable walking conditions. Fished the north shore of Oneida on Sat. Wading out and back was horrible. Probably the worst ice conditions I have encountered. The water/slush mix made every step sheer misery. Walked out about as far as we could go before we collapsed and ended up sitting there for the entire day. No way you would want to move around to try to find fish.

Marked a fair amount of fish but it was the old Oneida "non-biters" routine. Still if you worked them hard enough and Lady Luck was on your side you could get some to go. Bite was super light but when you got a hook into them you knew that they were no dinks. Ended up with a total of 16 smile , 9 were small at around 9" to 10" while the other 7 were 12" and up. Have some pics taken with a borrowed camera but don't have the cable to download them. Hopefully will figure out how to get some pics posted.

Probably won't be fishing Oneida anytime soon. Conditions are just pretty miserable frown .

I fished with Sniper 007 off the intake at the South End of Tusc. Found some good weeds and also found some Callies whistle

I put some decent 'Seeds & 'Gills on the ice, along with the Callies.

The walking was PATHETIC mad

Todd...if you want the Coordinates, give me a call. The 'Gills had some Wicked colors. I have never seen that coloring from that body of water shocked

Take care and be safe!!!

Hey guys - let's see - my description of conditions "every step sheer misery" and AW's "walking was PATHETIC mad" kind of gives you a good idea of what its like on the not so hard water. Makes staying at home or work a little easier to take.

Thunder if your homemade GPS works as well as your homemade "Thunder special", you'll have no problem getting to those coordinates.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
